Baskin Robbins in 홍성 (Hongseong)
치즈 닭갈비 (cheese dakgalbi) ~ in 하늘본닭, 의정부 (Uijeongbu)
Marinated chicken stir fried in red pepper paste based sauce with cabbage, sweet potatoes, onions, scallions and rice cake (떡), with cheese on top. Delicious ❤
Street art in Hongseong (홍성)~
After spending half a day in Lotte World Mall, we went for a stroll at the border of Seokchon Lake. Walking there felt very peaceful as we enjoyed the view. I got to see the Lotte Super Tower 123 from up close, which is one of the highest skyscraper in the world with its 123 floors. It is 555meters high, but unfortunately isn’t opened to the public yet.
In the last picture, you can see part of Lotte World theme park. It was a bit too cold at the time for us to go there, but I hope I will be able to go there in August.
From what I’ve heard, Seokchon Lake is the prettiest around mid-april as the Cherry Blossom Festival takes place there~
One of the funny things you can do in the TeamLab★World is seeing your own creatures coming to life~ The jellyfish, turtle, shark or even squid you’ve drawn get scanned so that it starts swimming on its own among the creatures of those who visited before you. By touching the walls on strategic places, you can feed them or make them swim away~
TeamLab★World
One of the places I liked the most while visiting Seoul in February. The TeamLab★World allows you to walk through various universes while wandering from one room to another, combining colors, lights and sounds into moving and interactive sceneries. The ultimate goal of this exhibition is to encourage their visitors to think of themselves and their body as part of Art.
This is the first room, called Flutter of Butterflies Beyond Borders. This one is according to me one of the prettiest, as blossoming flowers and butterflies slowly make their way around you and quiet music can be heard, plunging you into an enchanting athmosphere.
The 100 Years Sea contrasts with the rest of the exhibition as it is a lot more serious and stress-inducing, as you can see the waves continuously going up and down with a background of stressful music. The video of those waves has a running time of 100 years, therefore being set to end in 2109. The level of the sea imperceptibly rises and will keep doing so, as a representation of what’s happening in actual oceans nowadays, as a consequence of global warming.
The Crystal Universe room is constituted of a multitude of lights, representing the universe. The movements and position of your body among those lights create new shapes based on shadows and lights, so that your body become in itself part of this representation of the universe.
This exhibition can be found in Lotte World Mall - Jamsil Station.
