This blog has now become the home to my visual art and other creative endeavors — from original pieces, fun little fan works, to little handmade curiosities. ( Sometimes cosplay & music passions may end up here too!)

the only evidence of my first con.  my best friend was going by herself and she asked me--- i was on keto ( i look damn good in that group shot) and i had long red-ariel-hair. I was free and we had been binge watching souleater ( before it went to toonami) and I was thinking of a character I could do sinxe she was going to do Azusa. So I decided to do a genderbend of Spirit Albarn-- my friend borrowed her Maka to me and I made just a collar, and a blade that could hook on to my elbow-- since Spirit was Death’s scythe... just to add interest. We spent so much time in the karaoke room and wandering the con. IT was probably among my most favorite. It was only 2013 and cosplay was still pretty new/barely became mainstream... it was just to have fun. There wasn’t much seriousness to it-- you just cosplayed what you loved with what you had. I can’t even imagine 6 years prior to that would have looked like.

Gosh I’m so upset about this Minako. I didn’t realize how small the wig was (even though I wore it before when i tested it, ) until couple hours into wearing it when a hefty headache began making me sick and dizzy. I was sad to take it off but atleast I got some selfies from it... I’ll wear her again...just diff wig next time but I was happy to see how many recognized her and got pics ☺️😔

RCFD (Rock Camp For Dads)  doing Rocky Horror Picture Show as Columbia!!

 Rock Camp For Dads is essentially a pay-to-play  1 rehearsal a week for 4 weeks music camp that allows people who play musical instruments to participate in groups together. Kindof like when the elderly go to community colleges to participate in their orchestras or bands as a hobby but this is for garage band. Mostly those who participate are people who have families and jobs but still love to play at a level that isn’t stuck in the basement.  And depending on the level of the camp you play in the studio or out in public at venue that RCFD typically frequents-- Okay so now I got that all explained, this organization is quite special. Most people who do stuff like this, usually have to pay an arm and a leg and because my college didn’t really offer this special experience I feel quite lucky to have something like this where I live. I mean the cost is still rather high for someone like me ( minimum wage, hello) but it’s much more affordable than paying college credit and I find the experience fulfilling and worth the sacrifice.  Anyways, this allows me to exercise my stage performance, love for music and teamwork while building friendships with bandmates and an image in the RCFD community ( there is a niche for this because there are like 730 members who have been playing) I am not sure if this will take me anywhere but it makes me feel so proud nad like I am doing something with the skills I have acquired over my life as a performer and a singer and that I am not wasting them since switching majors. Anways it is a big deal, and because I forged a relationship with this company and these people I am one that gets called on time to time to fill a spot if needed and I show that I am reliable and professional and that I am in love with this organization. ANYWAYS --- enough, 

We did something pretty awesome, we decided to merge musical theatre with the rock camp and I got to be involved for the first time in this venture and I cannot wait because this opens a lot of doors for the future. I was so excited to sing my parts and to sing with the group, my band was a big one like 10 people and I got such a high out of being around them in performance and rehearsal.  We did this set/show last Halloween and we got handpicked as once of the top 7 bands to play in the annual “ Best of Season” ( mind you there are like 6-12 bands per month) so it is a pretty big deal when you get to be in this show and it tells me that what I am doing is right. I can’t wait for more. Happy 2k18 here we go!  I’ve talked to a bandmate who “ won” a camp when he won the costume contest on halloween ( our very own Frank N Furter) and I slid the idea of doing Little Shop of Horrors, and he gravitated to that instantly and wants to make that a camp, so hopefully fingers-crossed ( and he is welcoming me as Audrey, possibly) for this work I am soooo stoked. I HOPE this happens and I get to be involved in any way that I can. Because this was amazing. RCFD. Musicals. These people. Best of Season. All of it <3 <3
