Hey!
I was exploring your page and love your na'vi art it's amazing! I was curious, when did you first watch the blue people films?
And if I may, how have you mastered drawing na'vi so well!? I have ocs running around my head but can't seem to get them down on paper how I imagine them. Any tips or things you do to keep your oc drawings consistent and recognisable?

Hi there and thank you so much! ☺️
I’ve been a fan since teen me saw the first film wayyy back when! I’ve always adored the story and very excited to see it continue.
As for drawing them, I’ve been very lucky with commissions that have had me study them a lot actually, both on film and in the dictionary books. They’re quite human-like but more elongated cat-like features.
I know people aren’t crazy about the always practice tip but that is always a sure way to quick improvement.
But for something quicker, I always say to really study the screen grabs of characters. How wide is their nose/eyes apart.
(Images from Pinterest but I do something similar when trying to figure out proportions)
Their features vary a lot! Like teeth!
One thing I definitely see some struggle on is torsos. They are long! So sometimes if it looks off, I always lower the hips a bit more to get that effect
And masc na’vi have this wonderful bone structure that shows!
Now of course we know Avatars and Na’vi have their differences as well, which can effect looks too.
But if you really wanna get some good practice, draw any of the na’vi see in the background of scenes. They’re quite distinct and can help you get a hang of features faster.
I hope this was helpful, but I’m open to more questions if you have them ☺️
