what i say : i’m fine . what i mean : i can’t believe cosmo , the little boy who lost everything before he could even do basic maths , is getting attached to somebody he genuinely considers a father despite said person ridding themselves of all sense & sorts of emotions and attachment . i can’t believe that cosmo would rather watch alistair do experiments than spend time tracking down his own kind and staying alive . i can’t believe that the one person who brushes him off because he’s “busy” is the same person who cosmo holds so close to his heart and will do anything to stay , even if he’s not allowed . even if it’s unsafe . i can’t believe my small space child with trust issues and anxiety is putting his whole trust in a man who is downright mad and yet cosmo sees nothing wrong with that because , well , he’s mad too . they both are . one is a creator , a scientist with wacky ideas yet so full of logic , and the other embodies the entirety of the universe ---- what’s NOT mad about that ? i hate the fact that there’s a 100% chance that cosmo would try to pass up the opportunity to join charles’ academy because he doesn’t want to leave the one person he looks up to though he’d never outrightly say it for the sole purpose of avoiding the potential awkwardness and uncomfortable atmosphere he may bring upon alistair so he’d go anyway --- he’d leave to the academy and he’ll learn . but it wouldn’t be the same as it was with alistair “helping” him with his abilities and studying him . alistair may be a man of little words , of little emotion , but cosmo honestly believes there’s something that the stars above love about this man . the stars have spoken to him , told him to stay close and he doesn’t plan on leaving just yet . even if he’s a criminal , unsafe and a bit mad .

brows furrow in confusion as he listened intently to her words , eyes that held galaxies within them looked up at her briefly and that was when he noticed the slash across her collarbones ; a physical representation of her torment . petit hands , so fragile and skinny that they looked like they could break at the slightest touch , reached for her own — a simple gesture , most commonly used between a mother and child but …. cosmo , small little space boy , thought that now was appropriate despite it all .

    there’s amusement present on his expression, slight, but its there ( hidden below ounces of curiosity. ) he finds it fascinating to say the least, even if the kid is panicking. that worry goes below the radar for him, disregarded as fingers move to tap thoughtfully against his lower lip. of course, he wishes to understand it, but that is not something that comes along with ease.

             ❛   does it become harder to control when you’re nervous ?    ❜

he looked wildly around the room , searching for some sort of intervention to help him make it all stop , but he couldn’t . his eyes widen with panic , and suddenly he drops to his knees in front of the man , head bowed , short-fingered hands spread out on his thighs . boxes of all shapes and sizes floating in midair , some of them even dared to fall back onto the floor , gripping firmly to the floor // gravity out of balance .

brows furrowed ,   the sound of the kid’s cry send a quiver down her spine :   what an obnoxious   &   ridiculous sound ,  a PAIN to her ears .       ❛       if y’ truly did not want t’ steal ,  y’ would’a have NOT done it .       ❜        there was not one single day where she could just enjoy her coffee ,  without getting disturbed .    however ,  eyes did not even look at him ,  still devouring the book in her hands .

another sniffle is offered in response , small body bending down to pick up the loaf he dropped , sometimes flinching at the scolding he was receiving from the older woman . he felt his heart drop once she mentioned how disgusting bin surfing was and part of him wanted to mention that he had no other choice : with no home to go to , with nothing to cook with and nobody to cook for him , leftovers were his next best bet . the other part of him , however , screamed that it was none of her business .
