So much had happened since her arrival in Penacony that this little question had slipped under the radar. Sampo had always been suspicious but he'd never come across as that suspicious.
Their relationship clearly wasn't what Sampo was insisting, not that the Trailblazer couldn't tell that he was just hamming up. "I appreciate the times you've helped us. We wouldn't have saved Jarilo-VI without you." That technically didn't answer his question.
"Oh, that." Yes, that. Well, he hadn't meant to blow his cover so soon but thanks to Sparkle, he didn't have much choice. But when put in a rock and a hard place... "Yeah! Not a big deal, I'm still me. My cards have always been on the table, plain for you--and anyone else for that matter--to see. It's not that I hid it from you, I just didn't feel like it was a big deal!" ...He'd always do his best to make light of the situation. He shrugs off Stelle's question and doesn't offer much more of an explanation (or rather, a non-explanation) than that.
He does seem a bit happier at her acknowledgment, however. "I just so happened to be there like a certain someone whose little Express happened to be passing by, too! You aren't the only one traveling the great wide expanse, y'know."
★ "...Are you actually Sampo or are you just Sparkle in disguise again?"
"Should I punch you to find out?"
"Hey, hey there's no need to resort to violence! That's not how friends greet each other, do they? Give your ol' buddy Sampo a break!"
"...Actually I'm a little hurt you can't tell me, your actual friend, and Mistress Sparkle apart! Give it to me straight, Stelle, does our friendship mean anything to you!? You're breaking my heart at the implication!"

"You look a little too green to be here bud, you sure you're in the right place?" Sampo's seen all kinds of people up and down Crimson Lane, but this guy has way too innocent of a face to even begin looking like he belongs here. Then again, what does he care? Might as well try to make a sale while he has his attention. "Or--you're looking for something to buy. Am I right? Is that it? 'Course it is!" He doesn't give Eiden much room to answer yes or no before he begins prattling off again. "So, what's your fix? Something hard, something light…or maybe you're lookin' to have someone taken care of if you catch my drift!"
"Or, or you're looking for someone to take care of you…which in that case…super weird but not unheard of! Gotta give ya points for creativity though. Might wanna look into other things than that though."

He had heard that one would be able to find scenes or portraits of people familiar to them here, but he had yet to find any of himself or anyone he knew. What he does find, however, is a woman standing in front of a painting of...herself? "Oh hey...that's you, isn't it, miss?" Cue Sampo pointing to the huge and beautifully oil-painted portrait in front of them. It was a picture of Nero, of course, regal and refined. "You must be real important, huh?" And of course important means someone whose good graces he should try to get in!

"Well well well look who the cat dragged in." She expected to see him of all people here at some point. But never in a million years did she believe that the two of them would be rooming together. It felt like a sick joke, especially to the one individual who she had not yet met who was with the two of them.
"So what have you been up to here? Surely someone like yourself has had a few laughs so far with the situation everyone has found themselves in? Unless you've been waiting for me to help drag you along."

He figured it was only a matter of time before other fools started showing their faces around here, but to run into Sparkle, he wondered if he should be counting his blessings or praying to Aha right about now. "Oh heeeey Mistress Sparkle!" Tone playful as always, he betrays nothing other than being unbothered, even if seeing her now has him on his toes.
"Oh…y'know. This and that." He hasn't made much progress, nor any friends to speak of which is surprising considering the type of person he is. "Yeah, that's exactly what I've been waiting for! I'm so lost without your expertise, figured I may as well hope and pray that you'd show up sooner or later!" A bit of an exaggeration, but not entirely untrue. "…Unfortunate thing though, we were rooming together but our generous overseers saw fit to reassign me…elsewhere! But I could show up occasionally if you need me. This'll still be my home away from home!"
"Say, my friend...do you wanna make a wager?" Nope, not shady at all! Not suspicious in the slightest! And that shadiness is definitely not added on by the fact that he happens to be shuffling a deck of cards.
