“so…” moe started, reeling through what to talk about, "has anyone seen Pitbull recently? is he okay? has he drank water today?“ she chuckled. "Mr. Worldwide, I miss you.”
“please don’t tell me you actually listen to him.”

alice .
alice usually wasn’t in the right head space to ask people what they thought was beautiful. usually she would get so lost in the things she thought was beautiful but after writing ‘people’ on her list of beautiful things every day for a week, she knew she needed to know what people thought beauty was. alice nodded, jotting down life in her notebook. “life is beautiful, that’s a good one,” she had to pause and think for a moment. “home is beautiful. not just the city, but everything about being home.”
kota notices the blonde writing down her response in a journal. she doesn’t mind, she’s just..curious. “whatcha writing?” she’s not scared to ask. home? she thinks about it for a second. her home is different, but she does enjoy alone time in her room. that’s beautiful. she nods. “i agree, good one. write that one down too.” a wink.
olivia .
sue her for being curious ; one does not bring up blackmail for no reason – intents and purposes are always there, even if dormant in the back of someones mind. it just doesn’t make sense. "depends on how much money you’re willing to give — especially up front.“ she needs to pay someone back, anyways.
she’s got about four hundred on hand. “is three good enough to shut you up?” she’s smiling. she means this in the most friendly way possible. she’d just rather pay the girl to stop snooping than to include her in her family drama that started the blackmail scheme.
nikolai .
“then why the hell are you asking?” he shrugged. “don’t get all fucking salty when i answer the shit you asked in the first place.”
“i asked your opinion on how much i’d get.” she grumbles. he’s in a mood, she rolls her eyes at his attitude.
i s l a ,
“ that— but also real estate, yachts… with the right secret, one could build the foundations of a true empire. ” she’d witnessed as much happening in various circles, from new york to d.c., with secret-keeping in d.c. being more valuable. for obvious reasons.
dakota’s eyes widen. real estate? holy shit. she hadn’t thought that BIG. her parents were loaded, her mom and herself never really having much of a bond and now she knows why of course. dakota ensued guilt and regret when her mom looked at her, all she did was remind her of her affair and subconsciously contributed to the mistreatment of dakota over her other children. she thinks this is fair punishment, the woman doesn’t need more money, she has plenty, real estate too. “now you’re talking.” she’s grinning. “you’re surprising me, didn’t know you were so cool.”
o l i v i a ,
“are you sure?” she’s not showing her disappointment, she’s not. it’s just that olivia’s face is always showing a pointedly deep frown. yeah, that’s it. "’m still curious what you want to do this for.“
“m’sure.” she looks away, had she not been blackmailing her own mother she might let olivia in on the gig just to be cool. part of her feels bad she can’t let her help. “but if i do, you’ll be the first person i call.” she offers a small smile. “how i about i just pay you not to ask anymore questions? you end up getting money anyway, and my secret stays a secret.”
r e i n a ,
“Okay but for real, now you have me curious. What dirt do you have to be asking around girl?” she inquired, clearly intrigued. She wondered whether she really did have something to use as blackmail or if this was all just purely hypothetical.
“a family member.” she shrugs. that’s all she’s giving away. she wants to punish her mom but she doesn’t want everyone in town to know she slept around on her dad either, so, this is where she’ll shut it down. no more details. “anyways, it’s just hypothetical.” liar.
n i k o l a i ,
nik nodded and considered the additional information. it still wasn’t enough. “yearly can be really rentable too,” he pointed out and shrugged. “just take into consideration how much money the person has. you need to ask for a good sum but not something it will be hard for them to pay.”
she rolls her eyes. it’s cute, sibling bonding or whatever it is he thinks he’s doing by coaching her on how to blackmail though she’s perfectly capable on her own. “okay nikolai, i’m not stupid, i know how to blackmail someone, alright?”
hazel . . !
“I guess it would depend on how big the secret was and who it was about.” she said with a shrug of her shoulders. “I can’t see getting more than like 25k.” she said. “why? are you trying to blackmail someone?” she replied, mostly joking.
a smirk. 25k? this girl didn’t know any better, it wasn’t like she could read kota’s mind and know she was speaking about her own mother. the petrova’s were loaded, always have been, always will be, and she knows if she plays her cards right, she’ll get a shit ton more than a measly 25k. “wouldn’t you like to know?” she winks. “anyways, if i were, it’d be worth way more than 25k.”
axel . . !
“y'know, i understand that this is CALIFORNIA – warm all year round,” that seems more like a lie every single day the temperature continues to drop, "’m just waiting for when it gets back to the eighties. like. that’s the supreme time, you know? it’s the best season - everyone is happy .. not everyone, but like, most people, and all the fun stuff is readily available - though taken over by tourists i guess.“ a shrug. he’s not sure where he’s going with this. "y'think i could book a vacation somewhere that has that weather now? might be fun to play tourist for a few days – where has the best weather for this time'a year?” do they know? probably not, but.
“soo...” she pauses, a smile. “the summer, you miss the summer.” she’s not sure if she feels the same. something about the winter was calming to dakota, the summer brought memories and feelings of chaos. she thinks about the second part of his statement, the questions about other states. “I dunno, maybe nevada or some shit? florida? mexico?”
c o l t ,
“come on, buddy. you gotta work with me, we’ve been here for thirty minutes already,” he pleaded with the big dog. the sound of steps made him look up. “hey. any tricks on getting a stubborn dog to hurry with his business?”
she smirks. “what, do i look like someone who can get a dog to shit magically?” she couldn’t pass the opportunity for the joke up. “nah sorry dude, i only got reptiles, they don’t exactly need me to assist in their business besides tank cleaning day.”
a l i c e ,
there was a soft smile on her lips, a tuft of blonde hair framing her face, and a notebook with her initials written in gold in hand. when alice would get overwhelmed, she went somewhere beautiful and wrote down all the things she saw. it helped calm her in the moment and it was nice to look back on what she thought was beautiful. without thinking much of what she was saying she asked, to no one in particular, “what do you think is beautiful?”
a shift in dakota’s demeanor. she’s wondering how the bright blonde got to this train of thought but, for a moment, she indulges in it. she’s thinking now. “there’s a lot of beautiful things.” it’s true. there’s too many to choose from. “life is beautiful.” another true statement though, it could get ugly too despite it’s beauty. “what about you?”
o l i v i a ,
coming from just about nothing and having little to nothing but the clothing on her back with small items that had no monetary value, olivia can’t even imagine a hundred in cash — let alone thousands or millions. bank tellers must get a kick every time. still, oliia isn’t sure why the other wants to know ; it’s kind of sus to ask, really, but all the girl knows is that she wants IN — money? hell yeah. "i mean, you don’t go 'round askin’ 'bout blackmail for nothin - unless you’re a weirdo.“
dakota’s said too much, shit. why does she always have to go and run her mouth? this plan was devised with only herself in mind, she could tell the younger girl wanted a cut and maybe she’d give her one to keep quiet. “well it’s a one woman job, i don’t need any help.”
i s l a ,
she’d be hard-pressed to deny she wasn’t intrigued by the story… “ well in that case, i’d say you’ve hit a gold mine— hypothetically, of-course. ”
kota winks. smart woman. “yes, hypothetically.” she teases the word. “what does one do with bribe money, anyways? i imagine it’s meant to be spent on shit like diamonds and clothes, lots of clothes.”
olivia.
“hundreds, thousands – not millions, unless you’re anonymous.” even the thought of being contacted by that group had a shiver running up her spine. creepy. "why, you tryn'a blackmail someone?“
dakota closed her eyes, visualizing the money in the amounts olivia described. it wasn’t like she hadn’t seen that kind of money in her life before, she was a petrova afterall, and they were pretty darn wealthy. but it was all her parents money, nothing she had super easy access to at all times. maybe she was going a little psycho overboard with the whole plan to blackmail her mom for having an affair and never telling anyone about it, but in all fairness, she’d been lying to everyone for years about the truth, never telling dakota her father wasn’t biologically her dad. “perfect. exactly what i’m aiming for.” she’s satisfied with what she’s been told. “maybe, what’s it to ya?” she teases.
penneywaspresident:
he’s going to go out on a limb and say he doubts she’s talking to him and if she is, then, well … “why are you even considering blackmailing someone in the first place? is it worth the potential legal trouble you’ll be in should you get caught?”
dakota fought the urge to roll her eyes. she recognized this mans face, who didn’t? she wanted to tell him to fuck off, but perhaps she had more home training than she gave herself credit for. “oh uh, this is just hypothetical y’know?” she’s lying, sorta. nothing’s set in stone yet, and besides, it’s none of his business anyways. she’s sure he has secrets of his own, everyone did. that’s the first harsh reality she had to learn a lesson about in life. you can’t trust anyone but yourself.
nikolai .
“it depends,” nik shrugged. he was as unbothered about the question as his sister was. “are you blackmailing only one person? are you getting paid monthly or yearly?”
she pauses for a moment. a genuine expression that showed she was in the middle of a thought. “yep, one person...for now.” she shrugs, never know what can go south, she makes a mental note of it. “monthly, duh, let’s not be silly.”
