For part of a personal world-building project (the fantasy world of Ellrakar), I decided that I wanted to go about designing the world's creatures by basing each one off of a combination of three randomly-generated animals. #1: Bison, Dingo, Chipmunk #2: Badger, Jerboa, Fawn #3: Marmoset, Koala, Coyote 2 is my personal favorite. :3 More sets will be posted here as they come, but they'll also be posted in one continuous project on my ArtStation.

Got an account on conceptart.org to try and get my portfolio reviewed, found out about their “Character of the Week” contest, and was really interested in the current prompt (Horsemen of the Apocalypse as non-standard centaurs).

Here’s the initial exploratory sketches. I really hope bird-taurs are allowed, because I quite like vulture!Death. But I guess if not, jaguar!War (JagWar? LOL) might be who I go with.

I had a turnaround I used to model the character in this post (I need to do some full-body renders of her now that I think about it), I just shaded it and added a simple background to make it slightly more presentable for my portfolio.

I saw a post somewhere of a dog catching bubbles and somebody said something along the lines of “that’s a weird dragon” and I instantly wanted to draw a bubble-breathing dragon (which ultimately ended up not being very dragon-like).

It was initially just a one-off doodle, but I did some more sketches and I guess this might be the start of a species? I’d definitely like to develop the idea further, at least into something I can put into a character design portfolio that I seriously need to get some good material together for.

(Although finally having a species of my own that other people make characters of would be a dream come true! <3)
