The penguin stared at the otter for a moment. "… care to be more specific about that?" he asked. He honestly had no idea which specific quirk of Skipper’s Marlene meant. Unless it was a new one that Skipper had developed while no one else was looking… Kowalski made a mental note to ask Skipper permission to inspect for a behavioral nano-virus later.

"He came to me and asked me, out of nothing, if he could keep me. How do I understand that? Where you testing some of your crazy experiments again? Or did he completly lost his mind now? Or do you have any other, more logical explanation for this?..because it wasn’t spooky at all!", she almost started to yell.

And then he blinked in confusion. "... okaaay, that is a bit creepy, even for him." He rubbed the area under his beak with his flipper, akin to a human stroking their chin in thought. "Erm... Behavioral nano-virus?" Kowalski shrugged. "When you mentioned that he was acting strange, that's the first thing I thought of. Also, if I may bring up a point, can you even remember a point in time where Skipper told me it was okay to experiment on him?"

"Oh really? Tell me, how exactly did you manage to work out the kinks in that one?" Tch, amateur inventor. He could make a freeze ray in his sleep. Well, not literally, as it was still quite an impressive feat to make, but he was working on shortening the time in making one.
