An old weeping cherry tree at the edge of Reston's Lake Anne in full bloom, captures the rays of the early morning sun, illuminating its brilliant pink blooms. Beautiful morning in the woods. Or so it may appear. Things are not always what they seem. You see I'm actually enjoying the early morning sun on a portion of a large concrete edifice, which juts out from it, 50 feet above the earth. If we keep a keen, observant eye on the world around us, we will find we are always much closer to nature than we may think. Even in the center of the large concrete structures crated by man known as cities. Nature surrounds us wherever we are, however, it is up to us to be awake and open enough to see and enjoy it. Last night: A crackling fire on a cool, crisp fall evening, good friends, drinks and music set the tone for a great last night in our neighborhood of 6 years, Del Ray. Staring into the fire as 'blue eyes' by the Cary Brothers played on the iPod had emotions and thoughts of waxing nostalgic stirring. Camera: iPhone 4S.
