MCE printed version of ashes & ghost came! :) fireball on top, MCE on bottom for comparison. longer printing analysis post coming when i've recovered from this flare.
tl;dr - they both have their pros/cons, but both great options for doujin in the US.
Can I ask what artists inspire you?
Takato Yamamoto
Hamlet Machine
@kradeelav (senpai~~~ 🕷🤵♂👉 👈🕷🤵♂)
Yoko Matsushita (seeing her progression over the volumes of YnM is 💖)
@hauntedhoneymoonmotel for poetry and prose
@bigbigtruck (so expressive!)
@vikingcarrot has inspired me for Yeeeeeears
sicko 2 sicko mwah <3
making itty bitty reaction chibis for the zihark doujin where a part of RD's plot is retold.
(rhys looks angelically pissed because every heal main i have ever met has the Vibe, love u all :p)
Can you tell me more about making your own website?
it depends on what you want out of it., really :)
are you an hobbyist artist wanting a gallery/place to park fanworks that's not social media? same thing with an original webcomic? is the artwork SFW, NSFW, or kinky (there's as big of a difference between the latter two re: what most places are willing to host)? do you want interactive capabilities like a blog? do you actually not care about the content as much and just want to have fun dicking around with html (and pretty soon, linux)?
then there's also the question of what level of general tech learning you're willing to put in. there's no shame in just starting out - if anything, y'all are braver than the ones who've been at it for years. but it does change the answer.
if html code scares you, and you're really more interested than the content of the site versus having fun with the site itself, you're probably going to want to check out the three thousand website builders out there. wordpress, weebly, wix, etc (they all start with a w, heh). they basically walk you through the process but remember you're compromising ease for something (what you're allowed to post, custom domain, etc).
if you're willing to play with a little html but still keep it small scale you can get away with simple infrastructure - neocities.org is awesome for everything SFW (kink art is where it gets dicey. generally if you're wanting a site with kink art hosting capabilities, you need to learn more than the basic webhosting skills, eg sFTP).
beyond that there's a whole ocean of opportunities (and complexities). static site generators. bare metal self hosting. bootstrap tomfoolery. lions, bears, and tigers oh my.
for me, my goals changed over time; from generically putting my artworks in a gallery on weebly in 2017 to evolving into a more self-sufficient (and custom) digital home that can withstand censorship in 2026.
have fun. don't be afraid to make mistakes or change or tweak things; it's a journey like life is.
there was an attempt at a sleeping position :p
good lord
very slowly getting the hang of foliage...
Link Roundup - June
the usual monthly fun links from the world wide web on my diary; mostly curiosities related to art and hax0r activities ~
unlike most heroes in askr, the enigmatic new summoner was a natural doing public announcements & interviews.
however alfonse & co learn very quickly bright eyes sometimes required a handler to avoid going.... off script.
fanshrine updates
07.03.26 added PoR wallpaper, RD extended script (EN) translation, Talrega linkback, PoR/RD press kits, images, official website bios.

good comix mail night :) Unsounded by @glassshard and Wind in the Tall Grass (fe doujin) by @inktho ~ fantastic storytelling that makes me enjoy the medium very much in both.
the first 30 panels of Gaze an Eagle Blind has been shared (for free!) on @littlefoolery's ko-fi! ~
Little Foolery published a post on Ko-fi
this past year, I've been lucky enough to be a part of the supportive team doing some of the BG designs (art directed by @artofchira)! Also a huge, huge personal treat getting to see more of @moonsheen's writing ~
There's easily 400+ panels actively in the wip stage or finished so there's plenty to look forward to as well. :)
HUGE thanks to @kradeelav for their invaluable assistant work on this project. It's shaping up so beautifully. More to come soon, but as of right now enjoy the first 30-panel preview on our ko-fi!
