My copy of @jantze's "Knocked Out and Loaded" arrived today! Years ago, when I studied at SCAD, I had a chance opportunity to dine with Michael Jantze and talk shop after his deeply inspiring auditorium presentation. That dinner remains a personal highlight for me. Shortly after that conversation, Michael graciously invited me to contribute several PC WEENIES comics for his "The Norm Magazine" comic. It would mark the first time my PCW work was published in print, and it was a pivotal moment for me as a cartoonist. It was an honor to make an illustration for Michael's latest book (the one you see here) -- especially to be among the company of many of my personal cartooning heroes (and there are a LOT of them in this book). I learned of Margot Kidder’s passing a few hours ago. As a child of the 70’s and 80’s she will forever be Lois Lane - just like Christopher Reeve will always be Superman. Maybe it’s time for me to rewatch the first two films… #margotkidder #superman #loislane #rip

I caught the first two episodes of the new Karate Kid series on Youtube Red this weekend. Surprisingly, I really enjoyed it. The original Karate Kid movie deeply resonated with me. Like the protagonist, Daniel Larusso, I was continually picked on and bullied as a kid. A few years after the movie came out, I studied taekwondo, judo and hapkido in high school and developed my skill and confidence to the point where nobody dared to mess with me. You might see a few more Karate Kid pieces here soon. Which character from the movie should I work on next? Miyagi, Daniel or someone else? So here’s my new desk setup. The two monitors on the left are driven by a 2014 MacBook Pro 13” model. The Wacom Cintiq 27QHD and the monitor on the right are driven by my PC (a Hackintosh / Win10 build). This rearrangement was something I had planned on doing for a long time. And today I finally made some time to do it. I use Synergy (VNC) to move between all my screens. The “Forgive - Don’t Forget” documentary is now available to watch for free on Comcast XFINITY on Demand, this month only. I had some illustration work in the film and also designed the poster for the film. Here is an alternate version (with blood on the sword). The final version omits the blood.
