I have one super specific hc that I hold dearly to my heart and it’s that David, while he was still living in Deadwood and William was still a Tiny Little Wiwi, would always change the channel if anything about heroes came on. Sits in my thinking chair as I ponder about wiwi again….. one thing about William I haven’t seen the fandom dissect before is how romantic wiwi is. Not in the “he’s sooo flirty and gets soooo many theys (girls & boys & others hashtag bisexual pride)” no I mean he falls in love with like. Everyone. Sure it’s usually conveyed through a bit [Isaac (6 inches bit), Lui (camping bit)], but sometimes it is purely accidental and born from William just being an inherently romantic person.

Like Norah and PD (there’s also Summer but by s2 it isn’t even mentioned so I think it’s safe to say the feelings faded). Norah and William’s dynamic isn’t romantic inherently and it doesn’t have to be!! But there is a readable Romantic tension in holding hands while walking through the woods. And also William had a Norah Voice that he uses where he sounds a little softer and less sarcastic (that he also used for Ashe back when they first met and were traversing the spirit world . Unintentional but you can definitely hear how wiwi tries to sound softer and more comforting).

Dakota and William ALSO have no Blatant Romance but Williams level of idolization towards Dakota is nuts and insane and it’s not hard to read into it at all. Dakota literally gave William his heart in the most Literal sense Ever. William was willing to lie about Grayscale just to not have Dakotas opinion of him falter. I know what you are William Wisp.

Akneewayz the point is that William falls in love a lot and often and how it circles around to how All Kinds of Love in General is important to his character and motivations (S1 Spirit World arc [platonic love for Tide], Grayscale [platonic love for his family/brother], etc) me thinks. Me thinks William, despite being a very morally gray guy who is Super Duper Smart, still has a lot of stereotypically romantic ideas of people, relationships and the world around him, and I , specifically I , would be verrrry happy if in s3 this was acknowledged.
