and what if i said theres parallels between William wanting to go further into the house/woods when they were checking up on Mr. Lacey, and then immediately wanting to get out the moment something goes wrong in diseased residents, and Norah desperately wanting to read the grimoire, peering over Lui’s shoulder, Lui saying he recognizes the dark look in Norah’s eyes, and Norah from that point onward avoiding looking at the book and even going as far as to occasionally block her vision of the book in empty graves.
maybe this is even more of a stretch, but in diseased residents william is the one to look while norah is the one to listen. this is an idea thats pretty frequently discussed in the fandom but dont you guys think its kind of strange how its not even just the opposite, but the lines between who is looking, and who is listening between the two of them are getting more and more blurred the further we get into empty graves? Spoiler for case file 3 but in this latest episode William has to force himself not to look in the woods. He has to listen to make sure the cost is clear at Mr. Abrams house but there’s one to many close calls and he’s kind of fucking terrible at listening his rolls are so high, meanwhile in the forest Norah cant look, she has to listen, but knowing this she opens her eyes anyway and it nearly gets her killed.
what if they’re not so different after all. maybe they’re just two sides of the same coin
