New Year

The air was filled with jubilation that a new year brings. Happiness, hope and love created a bubble around everyone except her. She feels nothing. "3...2...1... Happy New Year", she whispers to herself as she stares into the horizon filled with a multitude of lights. As the dazzling display of fireworks illuminate her she starts laughing... A maniacal laugh along with the clank of the chains that bound her... Mind and soul... Leaving behind a shell of a woman. Year 10: The laughter hasn't stopped even after the heart has. ~SSN
