New DND OC! This new campaign is gonna be issekai ish so it starts in our real world. My little herbology witch to become a sorcerer Emry Rose!

Backstory: Emry, the twin sister to Marlow, is a bubbly, kindhearted woman. While she spends most of her time working at the local crystal shop she is known in her small pagan community as a talented Herbalist. Growing up at the side of her activist father she became enthralled with helping the community and standing up for what is right. She attends many a protest and uses her herbalism skills to cook delicious meals for the homeless. While her sense of justice is strong, her sense of morality is in a category of it's own with a deep belief that those who bring harm and suffering upon innocents don't deserve to continue breathing. It started when her father was severely debilitated due to the backlash of him preparing to divulge the dirty deeds of the pharmaceutical company that he and her mother worked for. They had sent thugs in the middle of the night to "dissuade" him and take the evidence her parents had gathered but her father held firm and refused. Both Emry and her father ended up in the hospital that night. Emry left with a scar, her father left nearly a vegetable. The perpetrators getting away with the evidence and without justice. Over the years she watched her mom give up everything to take care of him. While modern medicine couldn't help him she delved deep into magic and herbs hoping to find something, ANYTHING, to bring the father she once adored back. As an adult she became nearly an expert in herbs, knowing which to pick and which to avoid but none of them had helped her father. When a chance encounter puts her face to face with the ones who had scarred her she grew angry. They were living life to the fullest having faced no repercussions for destroying her family. Something snapped and a planned was created. If the justice system wouldn't punish them for their crimes, SHE would. Using her knowledge of herbs, and poisons, she took them out without a trace. She thought that would be the one and only time, but it had awoken something in her. A hunger for justice. She started scouting for those who had caused harm and gotten away with it, those the justice system had failed to keep off the streets.

When Amii goes missing and Ayuu decides to go find her, time goes by and she gets distracted and wrapped up in party shenanigans, slowly forgetting what their sister looks like and changing and growing in their own ways. One day, they look in the mirror and can no longer recognize her sister's face, queuing a (heh, literal) meltdown, revealing their changeling lineage to her party.

After the meltdown she comes to learn their party still cares for her and that she is loved no matter HOW they look, but it also re-instills how much she's forgotten the purpose of their travel.

Ayuu the changeling

Ayuu is the daughter of a woman who, so determined to have a child, made a pact with a being. The condition of that pact was that at some point, her beloved child would be replaced with a fussy, irritable and sickly changeling child. When the time came to swap the children back, the mother refused, saying she was keeping BOTH her children.

The two children, Amii the human child and Ayuu the changeling child, were raised as twins. Ayuu constantly mimicking the appearance of her sister. She spent the majority of her life in her sisters shadow, always considered the less liked one cause she's Hella autistic af and struggled with appearing "normal". Amii was always social and outgoing, bright and shiny to all those around her, while Ayuu struggled to know how to interact or just BE around others. She was quiet and spent most of her time watching others, trying to mimic the ways they emote and interact with others. When Amii disappears it's the first time Ayuu is thrust into the limelight, people grieving the disappearance of the light that was Amii would latch onto Ayuu hoping she would provide the same comfort that her sister did. But Ayuu is not that kind of person so people would become disappointed. When Ayuu decides she's going to set off and find her sister it's the first act of her doing what SHE wanted. When she meets her party, something changes in her. They don't have expectations of how she should act or be so she is slowly able to become comfortable around them just as she is! She ends up not even being the weirdest member, which while they don't know she's a changeling takes a bit of pressure off of her to PERFORM normalcy. Maybe throughout her story she starts coming to terms with her fae lineage, discovering her connection to wild magic and figuring out her OWN identity separate from the visage of her sister, even discovering their nonbinary-ness!
