🎼 BACKGROUND 🎼

She was born December 15th, 1980 in Trondheim. Her mother was from Germany but moved to Norway to be with Danielle’s father, they were quick to get married and start a family. Resulting in them not focusing too much on money which was a downfall. Her parents were average parents but always kept a check in on Danielle, growing up she mostly socialized at school and was in her room at home. Her father would bring home broken tech for her to mess with, her mother was pretty much working in nights when Dani would go to bed her mother would leave for work. Growing up she did Gymnastics too since her mother signed her up for it.  That put a strain in the father and mother’s relationship and at the age of 12 for Dani her parents got a divorce. Her mother moved back to Germany and her parents let her decide who to go with and Danielle picked to go with her Mother. Her move to Germany was fine since her mother taught her German to get her use to school but they mostly used English around the household. Dani went through school getting pretty average passing grades, nothing special or bad. Graduating was her favorite time since she got to experience a whole world now as an adult but she moved to Britain at the age of 21 when the first Gorillaz Album dropped and seeing an ad they needed a Stage Hand. Dani did it multiple times in school it shouldn’t be that hard of a job, showing up though and seeing a few others but not really meeting the band. They had concerts to take care of and Danielle kept her space backstage and didn’t talk much about the job. Being hired full time for Stage Hand since she seemed to keep up with the band and the unexpected twist to come their way, she was called back later for Demon Days tour and happily tagged along. Meeting the band when they were backstage and actually getting to know all of them. Getting along with Russel and 2D mostly though, Noodle was a sweetie, and Murdoc seemed to be too flirty for her to handle. Not being there for the plot mostly though, just hearing about it through interviews and words going around from fans. She was however apart of Plastic Beach being taken by Murdoc to help plan a tour and work with what they had for technology to see if they could communicate to the fans. She could and helped Murdoc with it scared she would lose her job, but she did rather get close to Mudz helping him figure out everything that was happening. For Phase 4 she was eager to get back to her job and worked for other bands and local concert houses, nothing was the same though as working for Gorillaz. Humanz was her favorite album as it seemed to draw the band closer together and they actually seemed okay for once, now that Phase 5 is here she wanted to go help Murdoc but her fear of the cold kept her away. She also thinks Murdoc is an idiot but we won’t go much into their relationship ;)

Personality: She is very protective over her close friends and the band members. Even Murdoc at times. In the first few phases she was cheerful and loved to make jokes, but as time went on she grew more serious, though she still has her happy side.

Bio:

When she was young she lived in a bad part of town with her mom and dad. Her dad was constantly at work leaving her verbally abusive mother and her two little sisters. Their house was always getting robbed and the block was always getting shot up, there was a time when her sister was outside and shots were being fired, she ran out and as she brought her sister inside a bullet hit Bernice’s arm. The next day she and her mom got into an argument, Bernice felt they should move, but her mom wouldn’t, and after her mom shouted that she wished she didn’t have Bernice for a daughter, Bernice ran out of the house, not turning back. She was 17 at the time. Bernice then moved in with her boyfriend who was 18 and started working small jobs to help pay for the rent. During the years with him she was made to feel like she was manipulated and that she was horrible to him, though he was a manipulator and when he was drunk, he could get physical. After she moved out she got her own apartment and worked two jobs to pay for it, the first was a day job at a local restaurant, where she was eventually taught how to cook after she got along well with the head cook, who she would come to see as her mother. Her second job was a night job, this was where she became a DJ, she was surprisingly very good at it and became well known in the area.

Likes: Snakes, any meat, Her friends, music, Djing, cooking

Dislikes: Murdoc most of the time, frogs, raw food, when people insult her or her friends

Looks: Short blonde hair , with washed out dark red strips mixed in, that goes just past her shoulders and is left down, and hazel eyes, thin top lip and a semi-full bottom lip, slender with slight curves, and fair skin

Clothing: a lot of sweaters, Skinny jeans, maybe skirts or dresses, beanies, a few necklaces, crop tops, vans and converse, heels at times

Fun facts:

- Before she joined the band she worked besides well known chefs as assistants.

-She has ADD and twitches a lot as a result of her anxiety happening all the time.

-She is also very flexible and a fast runner, and can hold her own in a fight despite her size

-Bernice can speak English, Sign Language and some Japanese

-She has two ghost skeleton spirits who follow her around due to her making a deal with the lost souls when she needed to get away from her ex, only she can see them unless they show themselves to others.

pick-me-ups for writers

for the self-conscious beginner: No one makes great things until the world intimately knows their mediocrity. Don’t think of your writing as terrible; think of it as preparing to contribute something great.

for the self-conscious late bloomer: Look at old writing as how far you’ve come. You can’t get to where you are today without covering all that past ground. For that, be proud.

for the perfectionist: Think about how much you complain about things you love—the mistakes and retcons in all your favorite series—and how you still love them anyway. Give yourself that same space.

for the realist: There will be people who hate your story even if it’s considered a classic. But there will be people who love your story, even if it is strange and unpopular.

for the fanfic writer: Your work isn’t lesser for not following canon. When you write, you’ve created a new work on its own. It can be, but does not have to be, limited by the source material. Canon is not the end-all, be-all. 

for the writer’s blocked: It doesn’t need to be perfect. Sometimes you have to move on and commit a few writing sins if it means you can create better things out of it.

for the lost: You started writing for a reason; remember that reason. It’s ok to move on. You are more than your writing. It will be here if you want to come back.
