Actually, you’re right, but… You could have not allowed me in. Point is, I apologize. I know no one forced it on me, but I’m trying here. I just want to mend the relationships that I’ve basically ended due to my actions.

Yeah. I know. You’re the only one who won’t just leave when I try to and because you had to witness the two people you love suffer because of me. I’d say an apology should be coming your way no matter what.

Well -– you’re at my house so me leaving would be kind of pointless. Doesn’t mean I’m going to accept that apology… You did what you wanted too. No one forced it on you.

do you remember? || an unexpected surprise

It had been almost a year since Julian and Kris split up. It was nearing the eleventh month mark since the two have decided getting a divorce was something that would ease the tension between the couple. Kris, however, was still very much against it, but after realizing that Julian had his mind set, there was no stopping him. They both came to a decision that the boys would stay with Julian, but allowed to see Kris as long as she called in advanced. Kris did not want another occurrence where she unexpectedly showed up — that just sparked another endless argument with Julian.

Kristen was cleaning her board free of the writing that her students made while on free time. First graders were a hassle, and everyday, she would be reminded of her boys whenever her students greeted her with a smile. It was heartbreaking.

Sighing to herself, she sits down at her desk before one of her coworkers knock on the wooden door. Since her split, Kris made a vow to herself to open up, to become more mature than she was when she was with Julian, and as a result, she made a few friends here and there. "You have got to come with me to this club, Kristen. It's open mic night. There are drinks, good food, and the overall vibe is enough to make you relax for an evening."

Kris was hesitant. Just at the mere mention of drinks, her mind immediately went back to that evening with Maroon 5, and she cringed. "Tonight is open mic night? How about... If I finish —"

"Nope. You are coming with me. You need a night off. I am picking you up at seven." Kris sighs and looks up at her friend; she was desperately trying to get Kris out of the house. After all, this person is the only one who was aware of what she did whenever she got to her apartment.

"Fine, seven o'clock. If you're a minute late, I'm changing back into my pj's."
