In a little coffee hangout with my best friend, I told him to write his pain away, letting it be his medium to channel whatever was bothering him - because I knew, without words, he was going through rubble.
So I gave him this, well, less formal, and with less sentence - orientation, quote of advice. but it went something like this:
“When the crickets start to chirp; or when you hear discreet howls of the breeze; or when the moon shines its brightest and creates beams of shadows of the windows of a dark room, let your mind play and fill its corners with the warmest, most reflective thoughts. Fill it with soul and find comfort in knowing that your mind and the words which are crafted from it can be your weapon of defense against that silent and monotonous state.”
The following paragraphs are from one piece structured by a great friend whose inspiration is his current state.
Right in the middle of nowhere, you see yourself standing in the middle of all the lies in the world; lies that include those you created. In that instant, you know how badly you f*cked up your whole life because of the fact that you wanted to feel “happy” even just for a moment that you had to deny the fact that you know it won’t last. And now, you just want out. Come to think of it, you made this mess, you gotta learn how to fix it. Life is too short to be regreting all of the mistakes you made in the past. But instead, try to learn from it and make use of all the time that you have to start all over again without stumbling on the same rock that you stumbled upon.
Run away, scream your lungs out, blow off all the steam; enjoy the little things, but never settle for that short instant. Like a pit stop, you never go out and be still; you gotta ride the bus again and continue your journey. In reality, you gotta know how to ride the wave of life. Never stop, and just keep moving forward. And here’s the funny thing, when your momentum is running really smooth, there’s that bitch that would smack you right outta the open; life. That’s where you try to be steady.
Eventually, you would realize sooner or later that all those 3am calls and long hours of texting was just a week’s worth of fantasy love stories and dramas. The truth is, not all of us get to have that happy ending. It’s true. You might have a bitter sweet one or a mediocre kinda thing. But come to think of it, you just gotta know who you wanna struggle with for the rest of your miserable life.
