the fault in our movie date decision; kria
Tia nodded slowly, her face pressed to Kris’s chest as she did so. It wasn’t that she was sad, it was just the movie that brought up so many inner conflicts that she never even thought of herself. She look in a breath, pulling away from his chest enough so she could look up at him. She reached up a hand so she could cup his cheek, gently running a thumb across his freckled complexion; she didn’t know what she’d do with herself if she never saw that face again. Just imagining a world without Kris scared the living shit out of her. She was his and he was hers, and that was something she didn’t want to change. “Um,” she started to say, clearing her throat, her voice raspy from the tears. “I’m sorry, that movie…I just…” She stopped for a moment, shaking her head and attempting to get the words she wanted to say functioning in her mind. She mostly knew what she wanted to say, but in regular Tia fashion, everything she was feeling came out as a giant, rushed rant. “I’m fine, really, I just don’t want you lose you, ever. I know that’s a lot to ask, cause obviously, to put in the most grim sense of terms, we’re both going to die one day, just like every single human being on this planet will, although I’m really hoping you and me both find each other in the afterlife and stick together there as well, but…I don’t know, I love you. I love being with you, and…I guess I’m scared that could suddenly change.” Although she was still in her teary state, she let out a soft laugh, mostly laughing at herself. “I’m such a mess, I’m sorry. See, this is why we still haven’t watched The Notebook together either, man.” Out of words in that moment, she pressed herself back to him, her face against the material of his shirt. “Does that make sense, sort of? I don’t know, I don’t think that 90% of what I say makes sense, but I just wanted to check, you know?”
Kris felt relief was through him as he felt the nodding of Tia's head against his skin. She was okay, or at least that was what she implied. Still, his shirt had become damp with her tears. Unfortunately, this was not the first time of that happening. He didn't like to see Tia cry -- at all. Kris immediately searched for her eyes once she pulled away. He could still see the blue eyes even though it was quite dark out. Tears glistened over them and fell from her cheeks, making him frown. He wondered if she was going to say anything, but knowing Tia she would say something because that was just the type of person Tia was. Kris loved her rants. His frown lifted a little when her fingers stroked his skin. When she finally spoke, her voice sounded more different than usual. A little broken up, in fact, but that was due to all her tears. As she was explaining, Kris listened to every single word. He understood where she was coming from completely. It was true, they would die one day. So would everyone else. Kris tried not to think of death too often, he was too close to that at the young age where he stayed in a coma for one whole year. Kris always wondered why he survived the car accident, why he got to live while his mother didn't. It suddenly occurred to him that he was simply meant to live. Everyone is meant to live, the reasons go on and on but Kris believed there was one reason in particular -- and that reason was the beautiful, selfless girl in front of him. "What a wonderful date movie, huh?" He finally inquired, letting out a breathy chuckle. It was an attempt to life up the heavy moods between them. Kris didn't know how long it would take for Tia to feel better, but he wouldn't rest until she felt at least a little bit better. "It makes sense." Kris responded, his large hands rubbing the back of her shoulders. "I know how crazy life can be.. How it can change in a blink of an eye..But Tia," He licked his lips, pulling her in closer though they were close as can be in that moment. "Don't worry about me, though. Or us. We're okay. As long as this earth keeps spinning, as long as Justin Bieber is a douchepants... As long as the grass is green and the sky is blue.. I will be right here, I'm not going anywhere. I love you, I can't stand the thought of losing you and I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you." Kris' face started to turn red. "I.. I mean, uh..You know. As long as you'd want to spend the rest of your life with me." He mumbled, chewing on the inside of his cheek. "Shall we go inside now?"
the fault in our movie date decision; kria
As if she hadn’t been waiting for months, Tia finally got to see The Fault In Our Stars, which was one of her favorite books, be turned into a movie. She was a bit nervous, knowing the pandemonium that would be around at the movie theater might make Kris reconsider his decision, but he seemed okay, just a bit taken aback by the volume of people there. Once they were all settled in, the movie seemed to go by breezily for the first hour. The story wasn’t too sad to start out, just a few dark moments, but Tia knew the story and she knew what was to come for Hazel and Augustus. She was able to hold back any sort of tears until the pair were in Amsterdam, Gus revealing that his cancer had come back. Although she saw it coming, it didn’t make it hurt any less, and she felt the sad tears welling in her eyes, eventually slipping. She was generally a quiet crier, not one to sob unless it really hurt, but even through the silence, she felt relief once Kris’s lips met her forehead. It was nice to know that he cared and was watching, no matter what.
After the plot started winding down, the movie eventually coming to an end, she was in love. She absolutely loved the film adaptation. She still felt a great sense of sadness looming around, though, even after leaving the theater. The movie made her think about Hazel and Gus’s life, of course, but it also made her think of her own; what she’d do if she ever lost Kris. It wasn’t something she necessarily wanted to think about, but it was currently circling around in her head. Her mind was still on the topic as she stared out the window in a daze, not even realizing that they were in the parking area in front of their apartment building. She came back to Earth a bit once she heard Kris’s sing-song voice calling her name. “Hm?” she muttered, offering a small smile when he kissed her cheek. She unbuckled her own seat-belt as he walked around and got her door, grabbing his hand as she stepped out. “Thanks,” she said softly with a nod, shutting the door with her free hand, the other one still occupied by Kris. Although it was getting late and it would be in their best interest to head upstairs and get some shut eye, the what-if’s were still dancing around her head, Tia’s inner worry-wort slightly emerging. She studied Kris in the dark lighting, streetlights casting a bit of a glare against his skin. Without warning, Tia wrapped her arms around Kris, her head tucked up against his chest, shutting her eyes and just wanting to not take the moment for granted.
Kris was glad that Tia willingly took his hand and got out of the car. That was a good step, even though she still looked somewhat bothered. Was this movie the only thing on her mind? Or was there more behind it? Kris contemplated the questions back and forth in his head as they started to walked toward their apartment hand-in-hand. If there were anything that Kris took away from watching the film, it was that nobody was promised a forever. Nobody was infinite.. Not even Augstus Waters who was far more handsome than Kris and had created some of the best metaphors he had ever heard. Back to the infinite thing, nobody was going to live forever. Everyone was going to have an ending. Some may come sooner than others, but it'd happen eventually. Kris glanced over to Tia, her eyes looked a little sore from the crying. She was still beautiful. She looked beautiful always, even when she woke up with a crazy bed-head or if she had flour all over her face from baking all day. Kris could recall so many memories of them together, this was just the beginning of their life together but who said anything about it lasting? A comet could crash to the earth at the very moment, there could be a crazy earthquake or zombie invasion. (Probably not zombie invasion, but it still crossed his mind). The point was, Kris didn't know how it would end. He had no wish to know. But what he did know is that all the days together counted for something. Every kiss shared between them, every conversation. There were some bad times before, but laughter triumphed the tears. God, was he in love with her. Kris could related to Augustus in that way, falling in love so deeply in a short amount of time. Kris knew right from the beginning that Tia was going to be someone extremely special in his life. There was never a doubt in his mind. The first kiss was sparked, and every kiss after that spark still remained. Suddenly, Kris felt Tia's arms wrap around him. His arms slipped around her waist in a gentle manner. "Are you okay?" Kris asked quietly, one hand rubbing over her back.
the fault in our movie date decision; kria
The drive home was rather quiet other than the faint music playing on the radio. Tonight was Kris and Tia's date night. They had a nice dinner before going to the cinema and watching The Fault In Our Stars. Going into the theater, Kris didn't know much about the movie or book for that matter. He was unaware of the large fanbase, when they were looking to find seats Kris noticed almost every teenage girl wore a shirt with a quote from the book. He assumed it was from the book anyway, since so many girls were wearing the same thing. For awhile he thought he was the only dude there, but that wasn't the case. There were other boyfriends and even a few father's.
The Fault In Our Stars was actually a great film. Teenage girls were sobbing in the theater, he looked over to Tia every so often and saw tears streaming down her own cheeks. Though the sobbing sounds from the audience wanted to make him laugh, his mood instantly dimmed when he saw the sight of Tia. Reaching an arm over her shoulders, he leaned in and gently kissed the top of her head. Don't get him wrong, it was a sad story but Kris never grew emotional over fictional characters. Lots of people seemed invested with Gus and Hazel. Their love story was truly heart-wrenching, and Kris didn't even see the plot twist where Gus had cancer. "What?!" He whispered, his Irish accent muffled and surprised.
They pulled up to their apartment. It was still crazy to think that they had their own apartment together in Seattle but here he was, putting the car in park in front of their home. He nervously looked over to Tia, she was clearly still upset. "Teeee..." The ginger sang softly, unbuckling his seat belt and turning toward her to kiss her cheek before getting out of the car. Opening the passenger door, Kris reached his hand out. "My lady. My love." He inquired, a soft smile over his features.
Tia: I love you. Seriously. Totally. Unconditionally. Irrevocably…okay, sorry I recently watched Twilight.
Tia: But hey, did I mention I love you? CAUSE YOU KNOW…I do, just a smidge. Just a lil bit. :)))
Kris: I love you too. Seriously. Totally. Moon of my life. My sun and stars. (I've been watching too much Game of Thrones).
Kris: What do you say? Dinner before the movie on Thursday?
Tia: KSDGKSDGKJJPIOW3IOOTKJSDGL0924092-1%%%%%%%
Tia: Ha, um…I might or might not have accidentally dropped my phone over excitement CONSIDERING YOU GOT TICKETS?! Kris, have I mentioned that I love you? I mean, I’d love you with or without movie tickets, because if you haven’t noticed, you’re stuck with me whether you like it or not, but I REALLY LOVE YOU RIGHT NOW, OKAY? Oh, and I’m also really happy you’re not suffering from a life threatening disease.
Tia: AND P.S……I still love you :)
Kris: They were only $18 dollars all together. Not a big deal at all.
Kris: I wouldn't want to be stuck with anyone else. I love you too.
