New Phantom au

Dove moves to Columbidae after a tragedy to pursue a creative career but falls on hard times. They take a menial day job that doesn’t quite cover rent (much less a studio) and unknowingly end up squatting in the same ‘abandoned’ house as Krow.

They’re profoundly art blocked and can’t manage to get things looking right… their colours are muddy, sketches sloppy, their arms so tired. But what’s this? In the morning light the sketch somehow looks so much better. The glaring faults they couldn’t pin down are gone.

The colours that were all mixed slightly off are now spot on, subtle or vibrant. They breathe life.

Into their dreams new ideas whisper, in low warm tones that flee on waking.

The half ruined house must be full of drafts despite the mouldering wall rugs because sometimes as they paint Dove can almost feel a gentle breath on the back of their neck. 

Sometimes they will prep canvas or do repetitive line exercises in near darkness to avoid showing light from the window because that is the only time they can spare after work. 

And on those nights, in their delirious exhaustion, they can feel their hand being guided by an unseen force from close behind.

Krowspiracy you can't keep doing this to me.

After preparing a toned ground with burnt umber Krow comes to the cafe with brown smears of paint on his fingers and Eliyah insinuates very delicately that it’s something… dubious.

Krow comes in next time and pretends to bump into Eliyah at the counter. When Eliyah turns to leave Krow has painted a perfect brown stripe on the seat of Eliyah’s most expensive jeans.
