(WiesenBerg) -  This is one of a total of nine collaborations with Heidi-Marie Arapa. It was created in 2013. The original is part of my Soundcloud album "eremit". I'm releasing this composition because they (like five others) were not available on Soundcloud for some time. Gradually, I will republish all collaborations with Heidi-Marie here.

(WiesenBerg) -  This is my contribution to the "6 Note Sequence Challenge" by Piano Soundboard (www.facebook.com/groups/1682015045398733/). Here are the participation rules: "Using the given sequence of 6 notes, compose variations, improvisation, development (a la sonata), fugue, or other form that uses the specific notes. You cannot change the sequence of the notes, but you can play them in any rhythm (i.e., time values). And of course, the harmonization is up to the composer. As always, the compositions must be piano solo or piano lead. Here is the note sequence, or merely look at the challenge artwork. The time value of the notes shown are not final, you can do as you please with that. The notes are: E (above middle C)- C (octave above middle C), B, A , F#, D (all in the octave above middle C)."

Diese neue Komposition widme ich meiner geliebten Mutter, Ruth Agnes Kruhl, welche heute vor einem Jahr starb. Die Eingangsmelodie basiert auf dem geistlichen Abendlied „Nun ruhen alle Wälder“ von Paul Gerhardt (1607 – 1676). Die vorletzte Strophe daraus hat sie uns Kindern oft als Gute Nacht Lied vorgesungen:

„Breit aus die Flügel beide, o Jesu, meine Freude, und nimm dein Küchlein ein. Will Satan mich verschlingen, so lass die Englein singen: 'Dies Kind soll unverletzet sein.' “

Der zweite, „elektronischere“ Teil beschreibt zunächst die Gefühle der Trauer und Nachdenklichkeit, zum Ende hin dann aber auch der dankbaren Erinnerung und hoffnungsvollen Zuversicht, dass unsere Lieben auch nach dem Tod bei uns und um uns sind.

I dedicate this new composition to my beloved mother, Ruth Agnes Kruhl, who died a year ago. The entrance melody is based on the spiritual evening song "Now Resting All Forests" by Paul Gerhardt (1607 - 1676). The penultimate verse of it she often sung us children as a good night song:

"Spread out the wings, O Jesus, my joy, and take in your little one. If Satan will devour me, let the little angels sing: 'This child shall be uninjured.' "

The second "more electronic" part first describes the feelings of grief and thoughtfulness, but then, finally, the grateful memory and hopeful confidence that our loved ones are with us and around us even after death.

(WiesenBerg)  BRAND NEW: My first release for more than a half year. It's another powerful part of the successful theme "Pulse Of Steel" - about 3,5 years after composing Part II and about 20(!) years after Part I (meanwhile you can find Part I on my debut cd "Neverending", too). Again it's a very rhythmic and melodic track (after a gloomy intro). So: Let's go and enjoy! :)

Ich widme es allen, die glauben, dass wir in diesem Universum nicht allein sind ...

(WiesenBerg) „In the course of time“ - „Im Laufe der Zeit“ – ist ein sehr entspanntes, fast elegisches Stück, in dem - neben dem klassischen Flächensound des Korg T3 Ex der frühen 90er und einer fast stakkatoartigen, durchlaufen Flötenmelodie - vor allem das Saxophon dominiert, was dem Ganzen einen nachdenklichen bis verträumten Charakter verleiht, verstärkt durch flirrende Glockenspielsounds. Die Bass- und Rhythmusgrundlage liefern ein Xylophonsound, gegen Ende kommen zurückgenommene Pauken dazu, untermalt von Stringpads. Es ist meine erste Komposition 2016 und zugleich noch einmal eine Liebeserklärung an den Korg T3 Ex, der hier ausschließlich zum Einsatz kam. Ursprünglich inspiriert hat mich das „Hello 2016“ Konzert mit Ron Boots & John Kerr im Planetarium Bochum: Ihre Konzerte Anfang der 90er waren meine ersten EM-Konzerte – der Lauf der Zeit hat sie mir annähernd  ein Vierteljahrhundert später noch einmal zurückgebracht … „In the Course of time“ - „Im Laufe der Zeit“ - is a very relaxed, nearly elegiac composition. Beside the classical KorgT3Ex-pad-sound of the early 90s and a flute-melody, it is dominated by the saxophone, which gives the track a thoughtful and dreamy character. Xylophone and reserved timpani represent the rhythm and bass group. It's my first composition in 2016, inspired by the „Hello 2016“ concert of Ron Boots & John Kerr in Bochum, a fascinating reunion after more than 20 years. The track is also a declaration of love to my Korg T3 Ex, which is the one and only instrument here.

(WiesenBerg) Thomas Jung, Gewinner des Preises "Newcomer des Jahres" bei den Schallwelle-Wahlen 2015 des deutschen Elektronik-Clubs Schallwende e.V., veröffentlichte mit "Seasons Of Change" nach seinem Debüt-Album "Painting The Sun" sein zweites Album im Sommer 2015. Dieses erreichte bei den Schallwelle-Wahlen 2016 Platz 9 in der Kategorie "Bestes Album National".

Thomas Jung, who won the price "Newcomer of the year" on the Schallwelle Awards 2015, presented by the German club for electronic music Schallwende e.V., published - after his debut-album "Painting The Sun" - his second album "Seasons Of Change" in summer 2015. This won place 9 in the category "Album National" on the Schallwelle Awards 2016.

I'm very enthusiastic about this very fresh, new band Years&Years. The UK-Hit No.1 "King" is such an uplifting and powerful song, the video is great, so I had much fun to create my own instrumental cover.
