will log in again at some point to load up my queue since i'm still taking some time away from here, but i bought these stupid things today and wanted to share
taking a teeny weeny break from this blog for my sanity, so i'll probably load up my queue to keep stuff going. i'm not sure how long i'll be away, but i'm approaching a really busy period at work and haven't been feeling very good, so i'll be elsewhere. dk if anyone's around cos for me it's 2am but if you happen to read this, i hope you all take care!!
alright friends, just a small announcement. i've made the decision to close my inbox down until i get through the list of all the memes i got in there because there's literally like 60 things klsjdnfsdnj if we have yet to interact and you didn't catch my starter call before i closed it (i still have to get through that as well, dw i did Not forget i promise, i'm just horifically slow), give this post a like and i'll try my best to put something small together to toss your way. i do intend on writing with all my mutuals at some point and will do my best to make sure i get to. thank you always for your endless patience <3
⋆。°✦ incoming message from @ma1nmenu ( caden victus ) : — don't hold it against them, they're actually not all that bad.
clark understands exactly how it feels to be misunderstood and misrepresented by not being given the opportunity to showcase who he really is; it's something that lingers in the back of his mind sometimes when he thinks about what exactly it took to get the emblem to rise above the preconceived notions and the fear of an alien walking among mankind. that's not something he's looking to perpetuate himself, but given his understanding of the situation, he can't help but still remain vigilant even at the risk of sounding somewhat close-minded. it comes from a place of concern though, one he hopes caden understands. « i'm sure they're not, » he answers carefully in turian tongue, his show of respect. clark had learned the turian language after discovering knowledge of the 10 year interplanetary war raged for the tech of the protheans, and his gestures are a little bit disjointed due to a lack of practice, but he still believes the effort is paramount.
« i get the whole thing about barrels not being completely rotten just 'cause of a few bad apples, trust me. » caden has experience as a diplomatic envoy with all kinds of species and conflicts in his journey for intergalactic peace, and clark admires him extensively for the dedication; it's why he hopes to at least have him consider the implications of this conflict. « -— but i can't just look the other way, either. given your history, there probably should be some cause for alarm. »
ᯓ★ HOWL'S MOVING CASTLE (2004) PROMPTS.
Collins is gone.
Namaygoosisagagun First Nation/Collins has burned to the ground. The entire community is nothing but ashes after being quickly consumed by wildfires. They did not have any support from emergency services, and no one offered aid. The community saved themselves by escaping into boats because no one came.
Mishkeegogamang and Cat Lake have lost power. Families are ending up in shelters with nothing. Armstrong, Lac La Croix, Whitesand, Gull Bay, Lac des Mille Lacs are currently in the fires path and all members are being evacuated.
All this loss, all this devastation, and it was entirely preventable.
After steadily underfunding wildland firefighting and purposefully excluding Indigenous wildland firefighters and Indigenous wildfire organizations from wildfire operations, firefighter training, decisionmaking, and resource exchanges, in 2025, Doug Ford slashed the forest firefighting budget.
It's hard to ignore his decision to cut funding and leave us out of adequate fire training (even though we've lived with forest fires for thousands of years—far longer than settlers have been in Canada—and made sure fires like the ones we're all seeing today were prevented through kinisitotēn) when, despite making up less than 5% of the population, we account for 42% percent of all wildfire evacuations in Canada.
And when we are successfully evacuated, we face discrimination and racism—like Kashechewan—because it's always been easier to blame us than it is to blame the true culprit: denialism, corportate greed, and colonization.
The people of Collins and every other impacted community deserve better.
Right now, the AFN is currently accepting donations to help Collins First Nation. If you're able to, please consider donating.
ONWA (Ontario Native Women's Association) is another great place to donate to. They have outreach vans going to motels and inns and offering food, water, resources, and cultural support to those impacted by the wildfires.
Other places to consider donating to are Mikinakoos Emergency Fund, Red Cross, True North Aid, Indigenous Climate Action. You can also send donations directly to Whitesand First Nation via e-transfer ([email protected]) and they request that you add your full name in the e-transfer comment section to receive a tax receipt.
*Before sending money, verify that the appeal appears on an official First Nation, Tribal Council or registered charity channel.
If you can't offer financial support, please consider donating items of need. Moontime Connections is currently accepting drop-off donations. If you live in the Thunder Bay area, Namaygoosisagagun Health Office is also taking in donations! They can also bemailed to Superior Inn Hotel & Conference Centre at 555 West Arthur Street, Thunder Bay, ON, P7E 5P8.
items needed are: food, diapers, medical masks, men’s and women’s joggers (all sizes), children’s clothing (newborn to size 14), children’s shoes, summer clothing, men’s clothing, toiletries (lotion, Vaseline, toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoo, conditioner, soap, deodorant, etc.), strollers, adult depends-all sizes, dog & cat food

ᯓ★ THE STAGES OF INTIMACY. accepting.
at the risk of sounding like a love-sick teenager, clark is more than happy to admit that his girlfriend always makes him feel like he's experiencing intimacy for the first time whenever she touches him in the way that's entirely and completely scandalous.
[ TXT ] : if i tell you something, promise you won't freak out. ("hey" but loudly)
[ 9:06 PM ] jennifer hallows: have i ever seemed like someone easily rattled? [ 9:08 PM ] jennifer hallows: don't tell me your leaving us to start up at the daily star. it's only one step above a rag mag, clark please [ 9:11 PM ] jennifer hallows: am i that unbearable to you?
for all her boasting of a casual tone the words on her screen had given her pause. over the course months she had begun the intricate of stringing together her theories; drawing lines between absences and the dishevelment of his appearance to come to certain conclusions. keeping the bulk of her hypotheses to herself but perhaps had begun to pick up on her underhanded scrutiny ( hoping he would misconstrue her renewed interest in his whereabouts with some school girl fondness ) it would seem her charade wasn't as convincing as she would have liked. yet it is entirely against her character to seem backed against the wall — unless she wished to be there, of course.
curled up on her couch, the fond goes dim in her hand for a moment as she considers her next message. even when flanked by a panting dog and napping cat she feels the emptiness of the penthouse. a sleek home lined by windows looking out over the city from on high yet entirely removed for all that unfolded below. the moon, a thin nail hung in the dar her only companions so she relents in her words…
[ 9:17 PM ] jennifer hallows: seriously though, what's this about? you can come over if you want.
forward, even for her but she knew @kryptonien would know her intentions weren't strictly of the dubious variety. assuming the best in even those who had done nothing to deserve such high expectations — she would include herself amongst that lot. the more the whisperings of her mind worsened the more sure of that she became.
✦ ₊ TEXTING PROMPTS ( * accepting!
clark's fingers hover uselessly over the screen as he thinks extremely hard about how he wants to answer the text. after the fifth attempt at typing something only to completely backspace and remove everything he put up, he's still too nervous to say it; he wonders if she's seen the little bubble that pops up at the bottom when it shows the other person's typing, and the thought suddenly makes him feel incredibly insecure under its consideration, and then he shrinks further into his despair as he groans. he's come up against other aliens and metahumans that can also split the world with their hands, but can't even find the courage to be honest with his girlfriend. he sets the phone down to his right for a moment, palming his forehead in frustration. this isn't something you should be telling your partner over text, but it's not as though he has an established framework for how to deliver this kind of confession, really. after all, the only other people he could think to even ask are far and few in between, and clark doesn't even know their experience with the aforementioned and whether or not they found success in its delivery if they did manage to share.
he's sitting on the daily planet's roof, his legs dangling over the edge while his cape billows in the wind; his hearing is always focused for distress calls, of course, but he's also listening in on jennifer's movements as she shuffles on what he's assuming is her sofa. his lips subconsciously curl up in fondness, hearing the panting of her dog and the breathing of her cat that are undoubtably next to her. he picks up his phone and sharply exhales.
[ 9:25 PM ] clark kent 👓: are you sure ? [ 9:25 PM ] clark kent 👓: i don't want to impose. it's late and we have a long day tomorrow.
he stares at the screen as seconds continue to tick by, his anxiety growing. they've been seeing each other for far too long now for her to start being able to discern that his clumsiness and chronic spottiness are not the result of actual incompetence, but something much more underlining; he would be naive to assume otherwise from the way she looks at him sometimes when he shows up late to a briefing. he hasn't even told her he loves her yet, but he feels he can't until she knows: knows that he's superman. she has yet to answer him, and he swallows around the lump in his throat.
[ 9:28 PM ] clark kent 👓: it's something i've been wanting to tell you for a while, but i've been scared, honestly. i'm not sure how you'll react. i do think we should talk in person, though. [ 9:29 PM ] clark kent 👓: maybe this can wait until later. i'm sorry i bothered you so late.

i shit you not there was a guy in my committee meeting today named james olsen
jean feels the apology before he manages to say it. it brushes against the edge of her mind in pieces. embarrassment, frustration, the terrible certainty that he has somehow ruined an evening simply by arriving nervous and wet from the rain. clark kent could hold a collapsing bridge together with his hands, but a few drops of water on a restaurant table seem capable of defeating him completely. she watches him surrender the napkin with a softness she does not bother hiding. ❝ clark, ❞ jean says, reaching across the table before his fingers can begin their nervous rhythm again. her hand settles over his, warm and light. ❝ it’s only water. i promise nobody is going to ask you to pay for the table. ❞ the joke is gentle. never at him, jean knows too well what it feels like to have every small mistake turned into evidence that something is wrong with you. his compliment reaches her twice. once through his voice, hesitant and sweet. once through the bright spill of thought he cannot quite contain. beautiful. jean lowers her eyes toward their joined hands, hiding the smile that comes too easily. ❝ thank you. ❞ candlelight warms the red of her hair when she looks back at him. ❝ you look good too. even with the rain. maybe especially with the rain. ❞ she feels his embarrassment deepen and decides, mercifully, not to mention it. the waiter appears beside them before clark can answer, placing two menus on the table and beginning a practiced explanation of the evening’s specials. jean listens politely, though half her attention remains on the broad hand beneath hers and the way clark has gone perfectly still, as if any movement might remind her that she is touching him. only when the waiter leaves does she draw her hand back. ❝ so, ❞ she says, opening the menu, ❝ i was going to order something elegant and pretend i come to places like this all the time. ❞ her eyes travel down the page before narrowing. ❝ but they have truffle fries, and i’m not nearly disciplined enough to ignore that. ❞
he misses her warmth the second it recedes. it's obvious in the way the line that splits his face has the slightest twitch downward, though he wills himself not to actually frown, even though she's not directly looking at him in the moment. after all, he has to be reasonable. instead, he covers his mouth with a hand in mock contemplation, something to settle himself from crawling at how anxious he's feeling. he takes a moment within the space she provides him as she looks at the menu to really observe her, watch how the light from the flame dances across the lines that make up the entirety of her face. the cardinal of her hair frames the bright emerald of her eyes, set in with a pair of full lips that are pursed in concentration after she speaks, likely assessing more options to compliment the side she's set her sights onto. clark briefly finds himself staring at them before clearing his throat. ❛ you don't need to worry about any of that. i already have enough rich friends with refined palates to last me a lifetime. if it wasn't already obvious, i'm so out of my element here. ❜ — which is an accurate assessment, and something his best friend already teases him about plenty whenever they go out for dinner together. his fingers reach for his own menu, recalling the waiter's disclosures and recommendations; his eyes scan it up and down to see if anything else is particularly striking when his stare lands on lobster thermidor. it's not his go-to for any particular occasion, but something about the evening makes him want to be a little adventurous. he puffs out his cheeks, and when his lips part to release the air, it leaves with a very unflattering pop. now that the tension's been dismantled a little by how casual she is, he's able to sink more into his skin properly; his gesture recaptures her attention, and he thinks to answer her with an easy-going smile that feels right at home with the rest of him. ❛ maybe if you're not feeling it when everything's all said and done, we can hit up one of the food trucks i saw on the way over here. ❜
⋆。°✦ incoming message from @he11blaze: — it's your life, do something for yourself for once, will you ?
normally when john constantine himself is giving you advice, you'd tend to do the exact opposite of what he says; this is standard practice and everyone around him seems to be of the same general consensus. that's definitely something clark would have been definitely inclined to do once, way back when they didn't really know each other and john had a bone to pick with him by virtue of being a cape. it's different now, the two of them effectively comrades in all the ways that matter, and clark knows there's more to him than meets the eye, and that there's more to him than a lot of people give him credit for. selfish ? sure. reckless ? absolutely — but the thing that most people don't realize about constantine, probably because he doesn't give most people the opportunity to figure it out (if clark had to guess), is that he's extremely loyal and abides by that loyalty with a strictness that would put most people to shame. when push comes to shove, if john constantine cares about you, he'll be there to catch you when you fall ... even if it's followed up with a lot of distance and a lot of self-loathing.
clark kent wouldn't be a very good journalist, and superman just wouldn't be very super, if he wasn't able to read people.
clark used to wonder why certain associates of his liked him so much, but the more he learns, the more he understands. clark has noticed the uptick in his heartbeat a long time ago whenever they're around each other, and it's something he's avoided commenting on to potentially save him from the embarrassment, but he has also noticed that it wanes a little bit the less intimidating he makes himself seem. with that taken into consideration, clark sighs and shakes his head, crossing his arms over his chest. he lowers himself to the ground to level with constantine a little better, his cape swaying with the movement until it stills when his feet flatten to the ground. ❛ all of this is bigger than me. i can't live my life like you can, i have something i need to do that's always more important than whatever i want. ❜
ᯓ★ HOWL'S MOVING CASTLE (2004) PROMPTS. accepting.
edits of clark kent: 2 / ?
nobody asked and it's late for me, so idk who's even around rn but i have a college au for clark where he goes to college on a football scholarship, and his high school prom king popularity follows him to his new school where he becomes a frat boy and gets invited to all the parties. and he's still completely cowed by his own popularity because he's a dork who never stays out past 9 pm and always promises to being girls home by curfew (he's an equal opportunist tho, gents and theys...) and gets straight A's and yaps about astrology whenever he gets the chance
the restaurant is quiet around them, tucked between two crowded streets where nobody thinks to look twice at the couple seated near the window. candlelight catches in jean’s hair, turning the red into something darker, almost wine-colored. she has chosen a black dress tonight, simple except for the soft line of the sleeves and the gold at her throat. something ordinary. something that does not look like a uniform or a warning. clark looks less ordinary beneath close attention. too broad for the chair, too gentle for the hands capable of bending steel. there is rain still caught in the dark wave of his hair, a few droplets shining near his temple. he must have flown through it. jean does not ask. there are some secrets people offer more easily when they are not pulled from them. ❝ you’re thinking very loudly, ❞ she says, resting her chin lightly against her hand. ❝ i thought dinner might be easier than another conversation on a rooftop. ❞ her eyes flick toward his damp hair, amusement softening her expression. ❝ warmer, too. ❞ @kryptonien
his embarrassment colors the canvas of expression as he shrinks in on himself, lifting his left hand to comb through his hair in an attempt to settle it down a little. he winces when he notices that the gesture forces droplets to fall onto the table, scrambling to wipe them off with the complementary cloth napkin provided with the silverware. ❛ i —- ❜ he blurts out, seemingly in an attempt to address her properly even though he's distracted with his task, so the rest of his thought fizzles out as his jaw snaps shut. with a heavy sigh, he stops wiping the table and throws the napkin onto the space in front of him, leaning back into his seat in defeat. she's kind, he thinks; he knows it in the way she doesn't call him out on it, doesn't make a joke of it and chooses not to address it at all other than in the clear delight that colors her face. he identifies with kindness, clings to it like a light shining against a tapestry of dark. sparing him his dignity has him sitting up straight once again to be polite, because she took the time to deign him with his presence, his hands clutching the edges of the table to drum his fingers along the top in a soft series of taps. he watches the light streak across the planes of her face, twinkling in the glint of her eyes while she returns his stare, trainquil like the air that blankets the dining room around them. ❛ sorry. ❜ clark tries his best to stifle his thoughts, not wanting them to spin in the cavern of his mouth. ❛ this is so lame, i know. i'm just really nervous. you look good, by the way. ❜
thinkin' about clark with a beard on this fine monday morning for no reason in particular
if you dated clark kent, would you beg him to keep the beard?
ok so basically everyone seems to like the beard
