Honestly I salute you for the dedication that takes to have a whole regularly updated webcomic. I believe I already went off in your comments once about how cool it is that entire comic is a mixed media but I ant to bring this fact up once more! Character's palettes fit background so good I always forget that they aren't drawn. I just think it's neat <3

Side tangent: I really like your style! Everything you draw looks so plush and soft and huggable. It also reminds me of Armenfilm's cartoons that was my favorite growing up. So I get magor nostalgia whiplash when I see your art.

I did a thing.

Since lately MWAU occupied my mind so much I startrd to be extra aware of all of the amazing artists, with whom I share this community with. And their characters.

The problem is: I have horrible social anxiety and not even half as active and supportive of others, as I'd like to be. And so I built a bomb. So I thought I'd make a list of all Minecraft OCs of all the different artists that I can get my hands on, give myself a week, and drew as many as I can. And later publish in one day all I managed to complete.

Of course I wasn't able to finish list fully, even though I gave myself couple additional days. This ment to be a love letter to the community, and I realized, that if I won't stop now - I'll be too anxious, and will never finish, thinking about how can I perfect it. When it doesn't have to be perfect, it just have to be.

I'll set a 10 minutes timer and post all I have with that interval AND I'M VERY NERVOUS (⁠⁠ꈍ⁠ᴗ⁠ꈍ⁠)

A rant post about Nil ( I'm freaking out in the grass) and how they're legendary pull of accidental symbolism. Because I think of mwau all the time and feel like I'm going crazy with media overanalysis (._.)

I know non of it (or at least very little) is intentional, but you can tie LITERALLY EVERYTHING about Nil into the theme of life. I just want to get this off my chest. I'm not crazy, I'm not obsessed, I promise!

Starting with name. Nil is named like that because they're nitwit (naming convention for every character in mwau: Liv - librarian, Klavis - klerik, Polly - pillager ext) but the actual real world name comes from the river Nile. Culturally it symbolises life.

Color green also symbolises life (in and out of au).

Dandelion is a flower associated with Nil, and it's pretty much known for growing even through the concrete if it has to. Just for funzes I searchid up what usually dandelion mean culturally and-

Pumpkins aren't associated with life for our cultures, but, but, BUT! In Minecraft - specifically carved pumpkin is basically a magical alchemy element brining life into cold lifeless materials since every golem requers a carved pumpkin in its creation.

AND IT'S ETHER ON ACCIDENT OR THE MOST LABOURISLY CRAFTED THING EVER WHICH IT'S NOT! I'M NOT CRAZY! YOU CRAZY! I WON'T GO BACK INTO THE RUBBER ROOM WITH RATS! (btw basically guess my fav character post)

How dare I make you happy well how dare YOU make ME happy with THIS?? Huh?? /lh fr though this kind of stuff makes me very happy to see hehe, and it is not all accidental!

Their name is- yes, meant to sound like their role as is with most of the characters- but also it means 'zero' or 'nothing'. The word originates from the latin word 'nihil', which is where 'nihilism' also comes from.

And dandelions were also picked on purpose! Dandelions are considered weeds, useless, they're stubborn to the point of frustration - but at the same time they're used to make wishes, and the seeds can be blown far far away from home.

Also fun fact- dandelions are two of the first flowers to ever be added to Minecraft, the other being a rose which was later changed into the poppy. In Minecraft, dandelions can also be used to lure rabbits (Nil's associative animal)
