Ernest Hemingway once said that we are all broken, and thatโs how the light gets in. I wonder if when Ernest broke himself apart and poured out his gift of words, whether he knew history would be changed in peopleโs lives every day because of what he had to say, and how broken, honest and raw he was willing to get. Itโs impossible to plan for the future with reference to growing without acknowledging that brokenness breeds a new form of fruit, a fruit of change and progression. Brokenness breeds a humble nature, and draws every man and woman from a place of status, to a place of surrender. Brokenness reminds the world that we are human, traveling, ever changing, and we are unfinished. Our willingness to be broken for the sake of a divine plan of redemption, by the one who knows only too well the pain of the injury for the glory the healing; is measured by how moldable we allow our position and persona to be. We donโt find success in suggesting we are always whole, pure, spotless and blameless. We donโt find peace in presenting an appearance on the outside that doesnโt reflect the inside. When He said He opposes the proud and gives grace to the humble, itโs precisely and accurately what He meant. He called us to find the beauty in our brokenness and the openness in our vulnerability. Accepting and admitting our brokenness breaks down pre conceived ideas, and the suggestion that we are inaccessible and our lives are unrealistic and unattainable. Every moment and downfall we face is an opportunity to accept grace, accept responsibility, find a firm stance on the ground, re root our intentions, and burst new life from the depths of the lessons we have learned along the way. Donโt be disheartened when your journey towards admitting your brokenness takes longer than others, because our timelines in our faith are not generic, theyโre not plural, no. Our timelines in our faith are personal and singular and are created, timed and purposed purely for each one of us, individually. So be broken, stay humble, let the light in and remain close to Him. Allow your brokenness to run its courseโฆ Heโll lead you to the mountain top soon enough. #100daycreativechallenge
