Seven Dwarfs: 7 things you like in the people around you

1) My siblings’ ability to keep me grounded when things around me are getting hectic.

2) The tireless and dedicated work-ethic of the staff I encounter regularly at music program broadcasts and those currently filming Channel SNSD.

3) The consistency of my mother’s phone calls and her cheesy way of greeting me with ‘I love you’ instead of ‘hello’ because she knows I need to hear it.

4) My father’s endless stream of pictures in our KKT family chat.

5) The fans, the fans, the fans. Their ability to see the good in me, in Girls’ Generation, especially when we feel most unworthy.

6) The way my company juniors and seniors tease me (often for my size, but all’s fair in jest and play),

7) And last, but definitely not least, the strength and joy I draw from the seven precious girls around me I consider part of my family.

Jasmine: The story of when you really had to trust someone. Was it easy?

It felt like my throat tightened up and my mind went completely blank. It felt like the beginning of an anxiety attack and right there and then was probably the most untimely situation for it to occur but then in less than a few seconds I felt a less familiar hold on my shoulder. I wanted to scream but I physically couldn’t and I just had to trust that the people around me would resolve things. I tried to struggle against being dragged and I nearly grabbed onto my closest group member, which was Hyoyeon, but the man who got a hold of me just kept on going until he was stopped. So no, it wasn’t easy, but I’m glad I trusted who I did.

Mulan: Do you trust your gut feeling?

Usually, yes, but there are times where I have to sacrifice going with emotion for logic because I’m a really emotionally-driven person, that’s where my ambition and motivation comes from, so it’s difficult not to go with what feels right to me.

Aurora: Story of your first kiss

I acted in a musical called “The Sun’s Song” in mid-2010 and until then I hadn’t had my first kiss, but there was a scene where my character and her boyfriend share a kiss, so––that was it. That was my first kiss. Nothing out of the ordinary except for the fact that I’m sure most people’s first kiss isn’t witnessed by an entire crowd, heh.

Terk: Are you a big brother/sister figure to anyone?

Well, I am a big sister. I have a sister who’s younger than me by nine years, which is a lot but that kid is so mature that I hardly ever recognize it nowadays. I think that it’s inevitable that the fans will always look up to me as not only a big sister but as their leader, despite our group not having one anymore, and rather than see that as a burden, it’s a title I’ll carry with honour. And then there’re my members who I feel take more care of me sometimes than I do of them but regardless, they see me as an older sister from time to time.

Peter Pan: Something from you childhood that you still love

Colouring is the first thing that came to mind, specifically colouring books. I’ve always liked having a template, spaces to fill with colour and lines I didn’t have to draw. I’ve tried to branch out to doodling but I always come back to my pencil crayons and colouring books and end up losing myself in the pages for an hour at a time. It’s also a way for me to relieve stress nowadays; with the radio on or an album, if I’m at my parents’ place where my CD collection is. And recently I’ve taken an interest in water colour paints, which isn’t something I was interested in as a kid but I feel indescribably young when I immerse myself in the art I create when I’m using them.

HE WOULD NEVER admit how much fun there was to have when she was around, that’d be feeding an ego he was too busy destroying.
