3D printing has been changing over the years and have also been changing the lives of many including wild animals. First off 3D printing has helped print sets of prosthetic legs for a kid. Each set are for every time he grows to a certain point where his current set no longer is able to fit on him. This is pretty good for the family as it allows them to save some extra money since 3D printing is and can be very cheap. Instead of buying the expensive prosthetic legs that may cost ten times more then 3D printing and it would had to be shipped. The family could have bought a printer that allowed them to do 3D printing so it saves money and time if they were in need of making adjustments to the legs. Another situation where 3D printing has helped the lives of people is when a cancer survivor received a new jaw made from 3D printing.
In this story the man was diagnosed with cancer on his tongue. The doctors were able to get rid of the cancer but it costed his lower jaw. But with the help of 3D printing the man was able to have his lower jaw again. The post also reported that this has helped 6 others patients including where one of them had his entire face put back together with 3D printing (Cancer Survivor Receives Jaw Thanks to New 3D Printing Technique, 2016)
Even animals get the same treatment and fairness of 3D Pinting. A penguin received a 3D prosthetic food. This helped the penguin as it enabled him to walk and swim again without having him to do extra movements to help do what the animal needed to do when it was on one leg. (Bagpipes the penguin stands tall with new 3D printed prosthetic foot) (small rant: what kind of name is bagpipes?)
3D printing has been making its way in to modern medicine that has helped changed and supported the lives of many. With the coming age it could be possible to afford printers that print limbs for patients that are missing limbs to help them with their everyday needs. For specific prosthetic such as athletes that may requires special materials as the prosthetic needs to be able to resist the intensity that it is going to be received .
