Funding for U/A/P
I'm hiring some very talented artists to work along side me on my show, some you may know and some you should! (Keeping it a surprise for now tho 👀) But I want to pay them a fair and livable wage for any hours they put into the project, my plan is to crowd source the funds and pay towards it myself out of pocket along side that so my main question is this, should I go Kickstarter or try and do the whole thing via small incremental goals on Kofi?
CROWD FUNDING A QUEER ASS TRANS MINI SERIES?! WHERE?!
Kofi a bit at a time
Kickstarter, all at once!
why not both?
The benefit of using Kickstarter all at once would be I would have enough (hopefully if I hit the goal) to pay the artists right away and get started right away. The downside is having to get as much together as possible now without any funds just to get the Kickstarter off the ground!
The benefit of using smaller donation goals in Kofi is being able to set goals like 'get all character models made and rigged' and showing off progress more readily but the downside is I would be posting about donations more and more towards to project as it got off the ground!
Using both means I could do small ones now to pay my team for pre requirement work for the series and show off the process we make and then would do one big push for the final Kickstarter to get the 5 episodes made! What do y'all think?
She may not have seen it coming, but she can now say ‘I’ve been waiting for this!’
Get art fight attacked @chloestransart . :)
Y'all will see a depressed trans woman dejectedly say "...Yeah, whatever, sure... I don't care if you misgender me." and go "Yippeeeee! Thanks bro! I always knew you were one of the good ones, dude!"
I can never remember if my gender is triangle or circle so it might as well be that
(from prev)
HEY SO APPARENTLY POLAND IS RESPONSIBLE FOR 99% CASES OF "LET'S MARK TOILETS WITH AN UPSIDE-DOWN TRIANGLE AND A CIRCLE AND HAVE PEOPLE GUESS WHICH SHAPE IS GIRL AND WHICH ONE IS BOY" AND I DID NOT KNOW???????????? That it's not universally used worldwide.
For added context to this funny image above, this is not only a wink to pretty obvious nonbinary experience, but also a big roast for that toilet marking system because a lot of my peers can never remember which toilet is which because it's so, so unintuitive (especially when some toilets use man pictogram-woman pictogram-man so you encounter the shape monstrosity when you least expect it and have to guess again).
^ Photo comes from this article. "But WHY? I decided to do exhaustive research on the topic (I asked 3 Polish people). None had an answer." tells you a whole lot
The drawing itself came from a conversation I had with my friends that we can never remember which is which and they might as well have put kiki and bouba on the doors and the confusion would be comparible because wtf do you mean "are you triangle or circle", we're just shapes now.
So yea, I wanted to make a #relatable funny picture and it turns out I wasn't aware that 75% of the joke will be understood by Polish people only. wow
edit: and people from California. Thank you @/qua-qua-qua
