Sue me I’ll come out of my hiding to yap about ZoSan again. The Wings dynamic is such a revolutionary spin on the “Shounen rivals” trope and till this day I have not yet found another example in anime or manga that matches it. The fundamental thing that makes Zoro and Sanji’s rivalry refreshing is that they clash not because they’re different from each other, but because they’re similar to each other. All of their opposing traits are superficial. When you boil them down to their core they are two sides of the same coin. It’s like fighting a shadow of yourself. Every serious conflict (and there’s only like, three, if you think about it seriously) between them reveals more about their inner struggles than it does about the actual “rivalry” between them. They challenge each other because they challenge themselves. And if they do fight each other someday, the only true enemy they face will be themselves.
I’m so behind on One Piece. I think once Elbaf is (almost) over I’ll get the push to finally read it all in one go. Then it’ll be essay vomit from me again be ready moots
The Monster Trio is such an amazing dynamic because if you go back and re-read One Piece you’ll find out that it has always been them. I have never seen a more beautifully written trio in any anime or manga. The Pirate King and his Wings. Not just since Thriller Bark or Long Ring Long Island or Little Garden or Loguetown or even Arlong Park—No, I think the Wings dynamic has been determined since Baratie. Zoro and Sanji were destined to be saved by Luffy and to help Luffy fly in return. The warrior and the knight. The sword and the shield. Strength and Love. And Luffy sitting at the very top of everything they believe in and fight for.
Later that night :
Thinking about flexibility
You’ll always be real to me, blue eyed Sanji ❤️🩹
Zosan but Zoro is an annoying protein boyfriend
Usopp always being the one to walk in on ZoSan is canon in fanon at this point but hear me out: it gets worse after his Observation Haki awakened, because now he can’t even choose to avoid the two. He just. Sees it. Wherever he goes
Ok I’m just curious because I’ve heard different things from different people but
Who was the “worst” Vinsmoke brother?
Ichiji
Niji
Yonji
And why? Conversely who do you think was the “best”? (Or least hateable)
Hilarious how the votes form exactly the shape of a dick

Boa Hancock not knowing how babies are made is a bit horrifying to me. I know it’s a gag about her innocent crush on Luffy in a non-canon spinoff novel. But her being a victim of sexual abuse and still remaining ignorant about sexual biology is in line with her character. She mentally cannot relate having children, a beautiful act of love and creating life, to sex, which she sees as monstrous and evil. And I don’t blame Gloriosa for not wanting to expose her to the truth as well.
I’ve seen so many jokes about Sanji getting a third backstory but here’s some things I absolutely would wanna see if Oda has the time to explore Sanji’s character again:
Sora’s lineage and possible connections to mermaids/the All Blue
Zeff’s previous crew (tbh I’m not a fan of the “Roger’s cook” theory, it indeed is very much in line with Oda’s style but there’s too much nepotism going on already)
The Death Pact (+ “the Power of Love”?)
Things I definitely do NOT want to see: Sanji having any connection to Imu/celestial dragons/the whole “Vinsmoke Romeo” thing/a romance or love plotline (the stuff that some Sanjibros talk about is so ridiculous)
roger's execution was like
Will Zoro let a pregnant Sanji fight
No
Yes, begrudgingly
Yes, he isn’t worried at all
I got a gold sanji first pull immediately after walking out on my abuser <3
Now I’ve started a habit of decorating my WT100 votes just cos it’s cute
Just moved out of my abusive home.
I called Oda he said my birthday is also Sanji day it’s canon
