something I just love about andreil is that if you took away the romantic and sexual aspects of their relationship, they'd still be each other's best friend. So many couples in media have no chemistry beyond the sexual tension and romantic subplot the creator has built up around them... but not andreil.

I think it's important that, before anything else, Andrew and Neil are each other's person. Neither of them would probably outright admit it or fully realize it, but they built a foundation of friendship and trust before their "nothing" ever started.

Neil of course thinks Andrew doesn't care about him for most of the series, but we know that's not true. By the time we're in TRK, Andrew probably trusted Neil almost as much as he trusted Wymack and Bee, even if he wouldn't admit it.

And by the end of the series, that undercurrent of fondness for one another, that friendship, it's so incredibly clear that you almost forget how much Neil hated Andrew in the beginning.
