ok tbh, from what i’ve gathered from the adam/shiro situation --- i kinda understand where adam’s coming from? it’s not that adam’s not supporting shiro’s dreams --- it’s more like, he doesn’t want shiro to be in danger? which is a very fair mindset to be in if you truly love a person. adam probably thinks shiro’s making a stupid decision, and if he honestly believes that, then i think him calling shiro out on it is very valid.
also im just gonna throw this out there, but maybe shiro wasn’t considerate of adam’s feelings either. shiro’s presented with this opportunity to go into space, not knowing what’s out there and whether or not he’s gonna survive --- and he’s probably thinking “my life, my choice.” which is true, yes, only you can control your life. but that doesn’t mean your decisions wouldn’t impact someone else & i think it’s important that we kinda see it from this angle too bc i feel like we’re always caught up in the “shiro does nothing wrong” idea
it’s not that adam doesn’t want to wait. i think adam was mostly saving himself from heartbreak, because he reallyyy didn’t feel good about the mission. safety is not guaranteed. and even if adam did wait, the longer shiro’s gone away, the more he’s going to believe that shiro’s truly gone and he just has to get over it and go on with life. and tbh it hurts more, the more you wait
i feel like that’s realistic. the “waiting for someone forever” mindset isn’t exactly a healthy one imo, because you’re setting yourself up with an expectation filled with uncertainties. so if they actually did break up, it was prob good for the two of them
and tl;dr, honestly i think adam and shiro made selfish decisions - adam, to prevent himself from heartbreak; and shiro, to pursue his dreams. but even with these decisions, i don’t necessarily think it’s bad. it’s just... kinda how things are sometimes
and before anyone gets onto me, i just want to say that this is merely speculation based on the info i’ve gathered from twitter which is, in short: adam and shiro were boyfriends. the breakup is also speculation, i think
