theoses:
𝐒𝐇𝐄 𝐊𝐍𝐄𝐖 𝐇𝐄𝐑 𝐑𝐎𝐋𝐄 𝐈𝐍 their house – cheerful, mischievous, accident-prone. while it had a certain element of charm, it left her in the ever-growing shadow of all the golden children she was related to. full of sunshine and good naturedness. a sort of built-in perfection that alex knew she’d never quite come close to – as much as she loved them all it left a chasm between them from her end. being the problem child wasn’t a role she hated to play, but it did lead to her never being taken seriously. outside of rhys, tate was the only one who didn’t abide by that when it came to alex.
“ it’s sweet – what’s there not to like about it ? “ besides the gasoline taste, of course. “ if romance isn’t all that, it’d be nice to find out for myself. ” she wrinkles her nose in thought, as if to try and put her finger on the problem. “ i don’t even really care about all of that. it’s just like… ” she shrugs, reaching to snatch her slushie back as if gulping it down and giving herself a brain freeze would help the words come to her. “ it’s like dude, i’m eating a large pizza alone at a carnival. you know ? ”
