Objective Glasses is an imaginary pair of glasses that removes all subjectivity from perception. Through them, the world appears stripped of emotion, meaning, and personal attachment. The most terrifying moment comes when the wearer looks into a mirror.

『客観めがね』は、知覚からあらゆる主観を取り除く架空の眼鏡である。そこから見える世界は感情や意味、個人的な愛着を失っている。そして最も恐ろしい瞬間は、その眼鏡をかけたまま鏡を見る時である。

I am participating in the group exhibition “Hróðvitnir.”

This exhibition takes the wolf as its central theme.

These are the thoughts I held while creating my work.

Wolves live in groups called packs — companions, families, communities.

They hunt together, and the food they obtain is shared among the pack.

About a hundred years ago in India, it is said that wolves took in human children who had been abandoned in the forest, raising them as their own.

The children were later found by a Western priest and brought to a church to be raised as humans. Yet they could never fully adapt. At night, they would howl toward the sky, calling for the wolf family from whom they had been taken.

In Japan, wolves are believed to have gone extinct in the late Meiji period.

They once lived in packs, hunting deer and boar together, sharing the lives they took with their family.

I imagine the bottomless loneliness of the very last wolf that survived deep in the forest.

Thinking about the heavy, dark meaning of “extinction of a species,” I painted this work.

And yet, even now, in the remote mountains of Chichibu, some people say they have heard wolves howling, or seen strange mountain dogs.

Perhaps a resilient group has somehow survived.

The underlying strength of life.

グループ展『Hróðvitnir（フローズヴィトニル）』に参加します。

狼をテーマにした展示です。

以下は私が作品を描きながら考えていた事です。

狼は、パックと呼ばれる仲間、家族、集団で生活しています。

仲間で狩りをして、得た食物は仲間と分かち合います。

100年前、インドでは森に捨てられた人間の子供を狼は群れに招き入れ、親となり育てたと言われています。

子供は、西洋人の神父に発見されて教会に引き取られ、人間として育て直されましたが、どうしても人間に馴染めず、夜になると引き離された狼の家族を呼ぶように夜空に吠えたそうです。

日本では狼は明治期後半に絶滅したと言われています。

群れをなし、鹿や猪を仲間と狩り、獲物の命を家族で分かち合い生きてきた狼。

深い森の中で生き残った最後の一匹の底なしの孤独を思います。

「種の絶滅」という重く暗い意味を考えながら描きました。

ただ、いまだに秩父の山奥では、狼の遠吠えを聞いた。異様な山犬を目撃したという人もいるようです。案外しぶとく生き残った集団がいるのかもしれません。「命の底力」

I’ve created a mini art book for my own promotion.

It’s B6 size, slightly larger than a postcard, and consists of a 16-page booklet.

Inside, I included my profile, several hand-drawn works and digital paintings, and the statements from my past three solo exhibitions in both Japanese and English.

I had 100 copies printed with the hope that not only galleries in Japan, but also overseas galleries and art professionals might pick it up and look through it.

I want to use it effectively as a promotional tool for my artistic career, but as I look at the stack of 100 copies, I’m still thinking about the best way to do that.

For now, I plan to carry some with me whenever I go out.

自分のプロモーション用にミニ画集を作りました。

B6サイズで葉書よりも少し大きい。16ページの冊子です。

私のプロフィール、手書作品とデジタルペイント作品を数点。

過去3回の個展のステートメントを日本語と英語で載せました。

国内のギャラリーはもちろん、出来れば海外のギャラリーや美術関係者にも手に取ってもらいたい！そんな思惑を持って100部作成しました。

自分の作家活動プロモーションツールとして有効に活用したいですが、具体的にどうしようかと100部の束を見ながらぼんやり考え中。

とりあえず、外を出歩く時には持って歩こうと思います。

金沢にあるルンパルンパで個展をします。

石川県金沢にある先鋭的なギャラリールンパルンパで個展をします。９月５日から一ヶ月間、詳しくは後ほどポストしますが、最新作から過去の作品60点くらいを展示する予定です。見に来てほしいです。

I will be holding a solo exhibition at the cutting-edge gallery Runparunpa in Kanazawa, Ishikawa Prefecture. The exhibition will run for one month from September 5th. Details will be posted later, but I plan to exhibit about 60 works, including my latest pieces and past works. I hope you will come and see it.

Diaspora Diaspora refers to peoples and communities that have been forced to “disperse” or “emigrate” from their safe havens due to warfare or other reasons. These exiles, who have lived through a history of hardship, have regained their “lost lands” by using their power. They displaced people who had lived on the land for generations and created a new "Diaspora. I look at my feet. There are times when I am at home and suddenly think, "I want to go home. Where do I want to go back to? In these days when we cannot see the future, our children will leave home in the near future. They may even leave this country. I will leave this world in a few years or a few decades. My family is also in the process of dispersing. Will we someday be able to reach the “lost home, the place we want to return to” of our family generations?

Tsutomu Okuzawa Born in 1966 Using drawing pens, coffee, colored ink, etc., he expresses the “discomfort” he feels in his daily life with his family on precise lines. Although I also create digitally, what I want to express is the same as hand-drawing. My works may look dark and violent, but I want to express the essential “love of life” based on the "innate goodness of human beings.

Diaspora 　ディアスポラは戦乱などで安住の土地を追われ「離散」「移民」を余儀なくされた民族やコミュニティを意味する。 　苦難の歴史を過ごしてきた流浪の民は、力を用いて、「失地」をとりもどした。その土地に何世代にも渡って暮らしていた人々を追い出し新たな「Diaspora」を生みだした。 　足元を見る。私は家にいてふと「帰りたい」と思う事がある。どこに帰りたいのだろう？ 未來が見えない昨今、近い将来、子供達は家を出ていく。この国から出るかもしれない。私は数年か数十年かでこの世から立ち去ることになる。私の家族もまた離散過程の中にある。 　私たち家族の世代を超えた「失われた故郷、帰りたい場所」にいつかたどりつくことはできるのだろうか？

奥澤 つとむ　Tsutomu Okuzawa 1966年生まれ　丙午 　ドローイングペン・コーヒー・カラーインクなどを使って家族との日常生活の中で感じる「違和感」を緻密な線に乗せて表現しています。 　デジタルでも作成いたしますが、表現したいものは手描きと同じものです。 　作品は暗く暴力的に見えるかもしれませんが、「性善説」に基づいた本質的な「命の愛おしさ」を表現したいと思っています。
