Hey so if we’re going to talk about Greek history can we not talk about Christopher Nolan and instead talk about how two hundred thousand Greeks starved to death during the Nazi occupation in WWII? Can we talk about how 83% of the country’s Jewish population (59,000 people) was murdered in concentration camps? Can we talk about the devastation post-WWII caused by the Greek Civil War? Can we talk about how the Central Mediterranean migration route (from Algeria, Egypt, Libya to Italy, Malta and Greece) is the deadliest maritime migration route in the world, with 35,144 missing migrants recorded since 2014? Can we talk about how the Chios Coast Guard intentionally rammed a refugee boat in March, killing 15 people? Can we talk about anything other than a shitty 3-hour movie?
— NATALIE PORTMAN as Padmé Naberrie/Amidala, CLAUDIA KARVAN as Sola Naberrie and TRISHA NOBLE as Jobal Naberrie in Star Wars, Episode II: Attack of the Clones (2002)

Return attack! :D So, same question, but Dave is giving you a three season Star Wars animated series and you have complete creative control. Whatcha got?!
Okay so look. A year ago I would have said three fulls seasons about Dooku being a good Jedi before his tragic fall. Very on brand. I’d get into the tone I’d like to set, the arcs I’d like to explore, voice actors (zero shade to the incredible Corey Burton but I feel like we can do something else) etc etc etc.
BUT
I’m ever at odds with canonical timelines, and although Dave has given me total freedom, I want to leave as big of an impact on the gffa universe as possible (plus I hear there’s a live action adaptation of D:JL already under development)
SO
I have no other choice other than three bombastic seasons of Thame Cerulian adventures
Consider. We can be absolutely canon-compliant. He doesn’t break anything that already exists (to my knowledge). He DID exist for a while. There’s virtually no backstory for Jocasta so she’s also fair game. Lene, Sifo-Dyas, Dooku, and Yoda can all show up.
Think: tongue in cheek tone of a Tartakovsky show (that knows when to take itself seriously) with the episodic genre bending of Community, complete with a stopmotion Life Day episode.
First season we get to follow him around on some early adventures. Maybe he’s pestering Lene on some dig-site one day, crashing a royal ball another day. Season ends with him getting appointed to the council.
Season two we can follow him and Jocasta around, give him the back seat for a few episodes and let Jo take over. There’s a fun arc where they accidentally knock over and break one of the busts in the archive, find a treasure map inside, poorly repair the bust, try to hide the treasure map from the council, and follow it to what’s essentially a McDonalds parking lot in the outer rim where a centuries-old assassin droid tries to kill them. There’s a much more serious arc where one of them thinks the other one gets killed. Beach episode is somewhere in there.
Season three goes completely off the rails. He’s a guest instructor on Tenoo for an arc. He gets banned from Trandosha. He uncovers a Sith-obsessed sex cult. He’s a brand ambassador for a viral Corellian brandy. This show is on Toonami btw.
Each season gets a gratuitous anime opening and surprisingly soft, introspective ending theme.
“The place would’ve driven Anakin to distraction, unless he somehow managed to arrange for podraces. No real technology to fiddle with, nothing dangerous to protect hapless villagers from — just work and home, work and home. He never said as much, but Ahsoka knew her master had gotten enough of that growing up on Tatooine. Master Obi-Wan would have said Raada was a good place to relax and then somehow stumbled on a nest of pirates or a ring of smugglers or a conspiracy of Sith. Ahsoka — Ashla — was hoping for something in the middle: home and work, and just enough excitement to keep her from climbing the walls.”
From Star Wars: Ahsoka by EK Johnston.
can’t post these lyrics on Instagram because I don’t like people knowing my business but Tumblr friends can know that this is the vibe tn

My mom wants me to share that from what she has heard, more than half a million Greeks actually starved to death — one of which was her great-grandfather.

Made his eyes comically large for my own enjoyment 😌
About to reread the Ahsoka novel for the umpteenth time. I know it’s been too long when all I can quote from the opening page is Mandalore burned. Not all of it, of course, but enough that smoke filled the air around here. Ahsoka Tano breathed it in.
Matariki adjacent post. ignore that Matariki was 2 weeks ago

Have my little and confused analysis/list of what I am trying to tell through these portraits regarding these little Jedi:
Jocasta and Sifo Dyas share some elements, her earrings and his braids parallel the other, and they wear their hair in bun/s, and the palette too.
Her lighter colors reflect her stronger connection and trust in the Jedi.
Sifo's colors are still those of the Jedi, but under the lighter brown robe there is a far darker one.
Dooku's colors are dark and share no connection to those of his friends.
Jocasta has a full smile and her hands are both shown, she will not harbor secrets or ill intentions in the future.
Sifo shows only one of his hands, he will keep a terrible secret, but not out of hate.
Dooku's hands are fully hidden, and his smile is more closed off, and in the future we know what he will become.
That's it 👉 👈
