if there was anything hyeon hated more than legal paperwork, it was boredom and after sitting across a judge with hours of going around in circles, he was finally able to sit down on a bench before he could see his friend. and all hyeon could do was groan. it was the longest night he had in weeks and it was going to be his best night yet. he had bought a new bottle of wine and he was planning on using it on a special guest until his phone rang and he didn’t have to look to see who the caller was. he almost didn’t answer, almost let it ring off the hook so he could finally have time to himself, but he knew he was going to answer anyway as he always did.
he leaned his head back against the wall, resting it before standing up and making his way to the interrogation room with a scowl. the policemen didn’t bother to stare as they had gotten use to his apparence and immediately let him inside the tiny room.
his first reaction to the other’s relaxed nature was to laugh ( and he did ) as he didn’t expect nothing less of yeohwan. however, it looked bad if hyeon treated the situation lightly despite having an intense battle with the judge moments ago. he sympathized with the other, however, as sometimes he would be sitting in a interrogation room for hours until someone would talk to him, but he couldn’t encourage the behavior.
and he was a little mad that he had to be doing this instead of drinking his wine like he wanted.
fixing his composure after laughing, he tried to scowl, tried to even be mad but he couldn’t and his scowl slowly turned into a smirk as he moved to yeohwan’s chair. “ya,” hyeon kicked the chair for emphasis, making sure to make a slight commotion. “are you comfortable on that chair? because I can tell them you want to sleep here after all.”
though his eyes were closed, and drowsiness was definitely taking over, yeohwan’s ears picked up the hard click of the door as it opened. the corner of his lips turned up in a knowing smirk, and though he still kept his eyes closed, he already knew who it was by the way his feet hit the cold ground and his sighs came out in small puffs.
his friend’s kick jolted his chair, and only then did yeohwan’s eyes open slightly to see him frowning over him. “i heard you laugh,” he pointed out, knowing that hyeon wasn’t really mad at him, not to the extent that he made his scowl look like. “i know you love me.”
yeohwan raised his wrists, gesturing to his metal shackles. “i sure as hell want to be back in my bed, so if you would do me the honors, i would appreciate it very much.”
as much as he knew that hyeon hated work like this, especially fetching him out of this dumb interrogation room that he had been in so many times, yeohwan knew that he’d do it, every single time—mostly because he had done it, every single time. whenever he was caught in a bind, especially with his whole double life in the black market, hyeon was there to help him out, even if he did occasionally end up arriving late to the party. sure, hyeon probably had his own reasons for pulling him out of this hellhole. yeohwan was his number one drug supplier, drugs that he needed in his life to keep him going, so hyeon couldn’t have his best friend get locked up.
“hey,” yeohwan grinned crookedly, “i’ll get you some good liquor. cheese, imported straight from france. and better yet, some of my homemade cooking.”
whenever his friend was cranky, bribery was the best way to go.
