Writing Goals

I have my goals for my writing. I am a biology major so I tend to have to write more scientific papers for my classes. I struggle with professional sounding language and grammar, but I hope that finding a nice middle ground in this class can be a start. Or even better, finding my professional voice through this course. I also have a hard time finding materials that support my writing. I think I can explain why I think certain ways pretty well, however, using outside sources is a great way to increase your knowledge, but also let the reader know that you yourself are knowledgable on the subject as well. I hope to be better at finding materials quicker as I think the root of the problem is that I loose interest quickly if I cannot find what I am looking for right away. Knowing where to look, and effectively, will help me grow not only my platform but also my understanding of writing as a whole.

Who am I as a writer?

I wouldn't say that I am the biggest writer, I tend to only write when I have to for a class or to create resumes, etc. But the writing that I enjoy to write are usually on a smaller scale. For example, an instagram caption, or long explanations of events from my life to friends in a text message. My writing can be very informal at times, but I also write the way that I speak. I hope to make it sound more professional in the future and specifically find, what professional web writing sounds like.
