Dear Kylinn,
I’m writing to you as a freshman in college a UNCW, you’re going into high school now and I know you may be feeling nervous about starting classes and starting somewhere new but just know you’ll be fine, and this is going to be an amazing experience. Many things are going to change soon like friends, classes, and yourself. This is going to be a chaotic time and you may feel overwhelmed or alone but just know it won’t always be like that. You’ll be taking classes that may seem challenging to you that’s why its important for you to set aside time to study and get your work done. By having a specific schedule will help you succeed in your work, this will be super important during volleyball season. One thing you may find yourself struggling with is your writing, you will take some challenging classes that will require a lot of research papers and essays but don’t worry there will be people that will help you and tricks you will learn. Don’t be afraid to ask for help it will make things so much easier on you. You will learn a lot and will improve your writing skills so much thanks to so many wonderful teachers that wanted to see you grow and learn. You will have one teacher that showed she genuinely cared about your success and she will give you helpful tips on writing responses, she will teach you this thing called raps it will show you the main things you need when writing. The R stands for read the question or topic, A Is for answer all parts of the question fully, P is for prove your answer back it up with proof, and the S stands for solution or restate your answer to make the reader get the point your trying to get across. This teacher is just one of many people that will teach you and help you throughout high school. There will be certain things you struggle with for example in your writing you will tend to go off of topic and add in things you don’t need this is because you’ve always been better at writing what you think or feel rather then saying it. That will cause issues in your classes but if you remember what Mrs. Earnheart taught you then you’ll do just fine. All the things you will learn along the way will help you once you get to college so pay attention and listen to when someone is trying to help. If you ever feel confused or worried about an assignment remember that uncle josh is an English professor and he will always be there to point you in the right direction. He will help you many times and can always review your papers to look for spelling or grammar errors. Keep in mind that it’s okay to mess up there Is always room for improvement, and you can’t be perfect. Always check your papers for run on sentences or non-important details. Another thing I want to write to you about and tell you to give journaling a try and to not keep all your emotions locked inside. You never have been good with expressing yourself with words and tend to not want to talk about things that bother you instead write it down I promise it will help you. Remember that writing doesn’t always shave to be associated with school or homework it can be a way to escape and to express yourself. Write down things that may help you in the future when you’re going through things or something that will show you how far you’ve come. Later in life you will realize how much you love writing and how it makes you feel better and helps you not be so stressed. If you pay attention and learn how to write it will help you succeed later in life. You don’t realize now but you use writing everyday whether it’s for school, a job, applications, or just writing for yourself it’s so important you learn and grow in it. English has always been your better subject and it will always come easier to you then math but don’t let that stop you or cause you to slack off. Always double check to make sure you have a strong point and you get that point across with only needed details, watch your grammar and punctuation. You will do great in high school but there will be times you struggle whether it be school or personal things but always remember it will g
