I would say that there’s different kinds of *horny for Maul*.

The most common one is *horny for a magnetic and depressingly handsome man who is often seen without his shirt on*. This kind of horny is very basic math. You add to his looks the rich baritone, the smouldering gaze. People are attracted to different things, but let’s just say Maul is someone that causes few to have to look for an explanation for the attraction.

The original version of Maul’s backstory establishes Maul as half-human (his mother) and half Dathomirian (his father, a Nightbrother). And given that Dathomirians are a human/Zabrak hybrid sub-species then this essentially makes Maul more human than “alien”. So I mean I’m the wrong person to comment on him being hot “because he looks alien,” because I don’t really think that he does so…

To me he’s always a package deal. Maul is the proto-Ben Solo. He’s so much more than a one-dimensional villain. I would actually say that he’s not a villain at all. Maul never chose this path. And l think it’s especially the EU materials that help paint a more complete picture of Maul’s many layers. There’s a couple of books that are actually pretty well-written for that sort of thing. The same can’t be said for a lot of the EU materials which is why I also understand why some people shun them by default. In Maul’s case I think these are written far more thoughtfully than most of the writing for him in either TCW or Rebels.

Those sources help to understand the complexity and conflict and the layers of his psychological trauma, not just the physical. So my thirst is for Maul the package deal, along with the baggage that informs literally all aspects of him. So I guess what I’m trying to say is that he’s also emotionally attractive [sue me]. Past having sympathy for a tragic figure. Among other things because it takes indescribable strength of character to so much as try to stand under the weight he’s been carrying. Not to mention what it takes to try and change his path.

Also he’s hot. He’s so hot. I just… need a glass of water…a tall glass of water.

The last of my amaryllis is blooming this week and the stephanotis wreath is ready to pop! I think the hardest part of quarantine is not having fresh flowers every week, so I’ve been spending more time in my solarium. All the lemon trees are flowering, and it smells like spring!

Thank you for the tag @monster-bait​​! So at home I don’t currently have any blooming plants besides the one orchid seen in a previous photo of my desk. But here is a photo of peonies from my family’s country home. I believe they were originally planted by my great grandmother. Another favorite of mine is Lily of the Incas (Alstroemeria) which people know to be my favorite so I always get them for my birthday.

I'm better at growing greenery than blooms, but I'll add an online image of probably my favourite flower, for its delicate beauty. These are small and papery and fragile in color though probably more robust than they look, and invariably move something in me whenever I see them.

Serruria florida is a species of flowering plant in the family Proteacea, endemic to South Africa. Commonly known as blushing bride.

Honest question: Why do people that despise Rey still involve themselves in the reylo fandom? Like, you detest one half of the ship, so unless I'm missing something here, why don't you unkindly remove yourself from the reylo fandom? And go and rabidly worship in your own building instead of adding unnecessary maliciousness to a fandom that is already worn out. Anti hate is exhausting enough ffs.

Oh god, I know what you mean. Shortly after the movie I had to unfollow some people cause they thought since Ben died that the weight of his sins made him not worth living in the end. I had to really bite my tongue not to say anything. 🤬 If you hate either Rey or Ben, please do yourself and everyone else a favor and step away from Reylo.

Hate is a big word. The problem is that she was written so poorly in the final installment that we were cheated of a better heroine, one of could be worthy... and to Reylos, one who was worthy of saving her soul mate. But worse than that is that her character is written in a way that essentially her triumph was at Ben Solo's expense. The inadequacies in her character arc in other words are the very things that hurt and eventually killed Ben. Hard to love that, but still wish they were together at the end in a better way.
