There are two ways of pronouncing data. Data and data. You have a preference, which would be data. The interesting thing is, some people pronounce it the other way; data as opposed to data.

The other interesting thing is, data was spelled the exact same in all instances, except you heard it differently in your head. The first, second and 5th instance was as you normally hear it “data” whereas the third and fourth time you heard it the other way, “data”. < You heard it just then too.

The question is, what do you prefer? Data or data; Data or data?
