I finally graduated from uni and sorta figured out what I wanted to do in life, so that’s nice. Also studied jpn on and off, but I’m a slow learner, so I’m still at a low-intermediate level. I can watch anime without subs... that was not why I wanted to learn but- it’s something. At this rate I’ll be fluent in 30 years, could be worse.
Anime/manga wise, I haven’t watched/read a ton. On the top of my head... Shirobako, Run with the Wind, Hibike Euphonium, World Trigger (best battle shounen out there I’m not joking), Tower of God, Kingdom (finally coming back, jfc we waaaaited)... I’m not too far behind on SnK’s manga, but I don’t even know what the anime covered... Didn’t it end already? Yeah, I haven’t been keeping up at all. I started jjk this week; almost wrote an essay on why a certain scene’s tone is all wrong and that’s when I realised I’m one of those people now. Disappointing, but unsurprising.
The last thing I watched and finished was a jdrama, Cherry Mahou. Cute stuff. Speaking of drama, I still stan Masato Sakai, some things never change.
Got into Fire Emblem. 8 is my favourite, because I’m basic and I like the twins’ hair. Played FEH a ton, got tired of it- That’s how long it’s been. I played that thing every day for 3 years. The one mobage I still keep up with mirishita. I’m free from mobage- stay the fuck away from me genshin.
What else? I got into kpop last year? Yeah cause I needed that in my life. I hate it, take me back (stan twt is actually worse than you imagine when you see it from the outside, trust me - I wasn’t cancelled or anything, I just lurk, and I see things - terrible things). Love Live -> Idolmaster -> kpop; such natural progression. (No.) But anyway, I’ve always loved music and I’ve been listening to a ton again. It’s still 80% jpn music, it’s the reason why I wanted to learn the language in the first place. I have fun deciphering the lyrics. It’s how I study, because I can’t sit down and hammer stuff into my head the normal way
I feel like I woke up from a long-ass coma creatively too.
If we used to talk or whatever, thanks? I’m sure I had a nice time talking to you, cause I have nothing but good memories of the convos I had on here.
On a final note, checking my drafts was a mistake.
I haven’t been in here in 5 years and I’m mind-blown there’s people here still. I feel like I opened a time capsule but the things inside it are alive and it’s freaking me out a little
