About three years ago my Dad had his first stroke, It took his whole left side. After 7 months of rehabilitation, and through sheer will, my Dad did something the neurologists thought was impossible. Not only learning to walk, but also to run, to speak, and use his left hand, my dad is the strongest man I know, but even he wasn't strong enough for what happened next. During the night he was hit with another stroke. When he woke up everything he worked so hard for was gone, but my Dad refused to give up. It took him the better part of a year, 2 surgeries, a stint in his brain and some balloonaplasty, to walk again. But it wasn't enough, it hit him too hard. A couple of months later I got a phone call from him, he said he was tired of sitting around waiting to die in a chair watching t.v. instead he wanted to travel the country, see the things he was never able to when he was younger. The next day I broke my lease agreement, sold everything I wouldn't need and the new chapter in our lives began. His goal is to see everything America has to offer, mountains, lakes, oceans, forests, every natural beauty life has to offer. My goal, is to spend as much time as I can with the man who gave up everything to make me the man I am today, to give him back a fraction of what he's given to me. And that's what this blog is for, to have something to look back on when I'm older, to show my kids, to never forget what happened. And to show that no matter what, you're never too old, too young, or too broken to chase your dreams. So give me ideas of things to do and places to see, and who knows, you might just see me around. -Josh
