It’s scary because I wouldn’t be surprised if Mirra finished top 3 this year (maybe #1 but idk). For Svitolina it’s crazy because she lost in the first round at uso and then ended her season. I worry for players (like Iga) who have so many points to defend because it increases their stress which can make their tennis worse.

it’s honestly so good to hear from maja’s manager that they’ve already received more than 100 sponsorship offers. more than anything, i’m glad they’re taking their time. this isn’t something that needs to be decided in a week. going home, talking to people properly and choosing the right partnerships feels like exactly the right approach.
after everything she’s been through and all the years spent fighting for opportunities, i’m genuinely thrilled for her. whatever happens from here, this run has changed her life forever.
i am feeling something more than pride. i am beyond happy for maja because not only she reached the final of a grand slam but she now has all the resources to show the world her tennis - the money, the ranking and the visibility. she is such an amazing player with a high tennis iq who plays tennis in such an intelligent way. i am so happy for her. she deserves it

maja is now ranked no. 21 in the world and sitting directly between anna kalinskaya and elise mertens, the exact two players she beat on her way to the roland-garros final. she really looked at the rankings and said, “move over, i’m taking the seat between you two.”
