real feminist men don't say "WHAT ABOUT ME" or "NOT ALL MEN" in response to a generic "men suck" type post, because real feminist men recognize they're an exception and can prove that they're good men who can be trusted through their actions, and dont have to beg for reassurance from someone expressing frustration nor do they feel the need to call her a bitch because of her frustration.

Trans men having male privilege doesn't mean trans men dont experience transphobia. It doesn't mean we don't experience oppression at all. it just means that we can leverage our position over trans women and get away with it. We can destroy their lives and face 0 repercussions. It means if it comes between a trans man's word and a trans woman's word, he is more likely to be believed. If you're a feminist this should anger you and you should work to make sure that you're aware of this and never do it. If this makes you defensive, you're probably already doing it. Fix your heart.

I've started trying to ween the word 'evil' out of my vocabulary bc I think it is largely unhelpful :D I've been attempting to more acutely sus out what it is I don't like about someone's behaviour, and calling it that instead. Usually it comes down to 'selfish' and/or 'cruel', but I've also found 'inconsiderate' to be the root at times. I think it's helpful to get down to the real human elements at play that we'd like to discourage, rather than some ambiguous big bad :D

I think you’re right. A lot of people also completely lack self-awareness. It’s a type of “inconsiderate” that requires you to not only be aware of and care about the world around you, but to also understand how you yourself respond to that and work on it with compassion so that you cause less harm.

To me, if someone is barreling through life being mindless and inconsiderate and never even tries to change that, eventually they will become Evil. Evil is when you stop caring; when you stop trying to be kinder, gentler, grow or change, and instead lean into being inconsiderate, ignorant and arrogant. Your soul gets smothered and you become stuck in a selfish/self destructive cycle.

Positive self growth is very difficult if you’ve been through a lot of trauma because you have to be brave enough to face and then learn to live with your own demons. But if you do, you’ll end up so much happier in the long run because you will alter and even obliterate the cycles of self destruction while you become a more mindful and self respecting human being of the planet earth.

i think a lot of people internalized the misogynistic idea that “men are rational and women are emotional” and just went “that’s true… but it’s a good thing!” instead of saying “that’s obviously bullshit and we shouldn’t perpetuate this belief in any form”

I don’t disagree, but I think everyone needs to pound it into their brain that anyone can be anything: good, evil, immoral, corrupt, toxic, sensitive, abusive, intelligent, boring, propagandized, cold, emotional, feminine, masculine, biased or phobic of others, etc etc etc… what MATTERS is privilege and power dynamics and how these things that keep us socially separated from one another are reinforced or rewarded in our society for some groups, and used as grounds for punishment with others.
