- FINAL PERFORMANCE VIDEO -
Here's our write up for our final performance for the piece
Here's the quadraphonic mixing patch we use. Snazzy.
In the studio today testing out some quadraphonic panning
A MIDI example of the kind of composition behind La Espai.
Our third performance, this time with improvisation in response to a film projected onto two screens (each screen shows different perspectives on a narrative)
There's no looping/tech here; it's just to explore the idea of a multi-screen performance.
A second performance, again testing out different ideas - best listened to with headphones!
This time live instrumentalists were incorporated alongside the quadraphonic panning/looping controlled by an iPad.
Overall, the piece went well - the main thing that needed attention was audio levels.
Ben Bengler - Schwanensee Splitter
Here's a piece of music which I (Sean) have had the pleasure of seeing performed live at NoiseFloor Music Festival.
A music box is played into Ableton in real time, which is then processed in numerous ways to construct a longer piece of music. Again, very influential.
Everything In Its Right Place - Radiohead
This is a major inspiration for this project, musically speaking. The use of loops and drones as to create the foundations of the piece is particularly interesting.
An initial performance to test out a Max/MSP patch created to pan sounds around a surround-sound setup.
The sounds you here are some midi files created on Sibelius.
