Bourbon Banana Cream Pie
âSounds like something good to do today,â he said as he got up from his seat. âThank you very much for the cake. It was delicious. I hope you enjoy your day and feel better.âÂ
".Thanks. I will do itâ she gave him a nod. âIt is nice to meet you, Anton. Take care of yourselfâ
END
âWeâll just have to find out. Iâm not sure what else to say regarding the matter. Weâre all guessing. What do you do to keep yourself occupied? I donât see you baking or doing any cooking at your state,â he eyed her.
âOf courseâ she realised he knew just about as much as she did. âThese past days I have just been resting and watching many film on my laptop. No baking.â she nodded.
Anton watched her closely then nodded his head as well. âThey had a newsletter issued with names of people who got hurt. Even the ones who were - killed. The people outside the castle at least know what happened. But Iâm sure the word would get out. It might not have happened yet but it will. Soon families would flock Hohenzollern for their relatives⌠Those who cared at least.â Anton felt horrible after seeing her reaction. He needed to be more conscious of the situation before opening his mouth. âItâs a thought. But Iâm sure theyâre not that stupid to do the same act twice. Try not to think about it. As long as youâre in here, you are alright. Remember, the attack happened outside the castle.â He tried to assure her. However, he didnât fully believe what he just told her.
âI know. I saw thisâ she said sadly. âof course, those with loved ones come here maybe. To see if they are hurtâ her eyes became watery and she dashed away the tears before they formed. âOr if ...their child is killedâ she looked down at her hands, they were shaking and she wrung them together. She nodded. âI am safe, we are safe. But how long do we stay here?â We must leaving one dayâ And she looked up at him. âMaybe the attacker peoples are in the castle. How do we know?â her voice started to sound distressed so she took a deep breath.
The womanâs sudden demeanor did not surprise Anton. He nodded his head, âI think about leaving every day. Moreso after the incident. And of course you donât feel safe. Youâve been attack and so far nothing has been done about it. We donât know who attacked you and killed the others. For all we know, theyâd attack again.â
She nodded her head vigorously, he was right. Nothing had been done about it. She had had first aid care at the castle and had been told to stay there and not leave until her visible wounds had healed. And she was under strict order not to go to a doctor outside of the castle. It was apparent that they did not want this getting out. âDo you think the peoples outside of here know...about what happened at the hunt?â she asked him and then her eyes widened and she gasped audibly, almost theatrically. âTheyâd attack again?â she said rather loudly.
âThe title is very attractive. No wonder you came to work here. You make really good pastries,â he said. He then nodded his head, looking her in the eyes. âWhat are your plans after what happened at the event? I wish I was like no. I wish I wasnât attached to this place.â But then again no rules said he couldnât break the bond, he thought to himself.
âMany people think this like you. But I am just a cookâ she said with a smile, she had no sense of vanity about her position. She paused for while before answering him and then looked around to make sure there was no one within earshot. âI do not feel safe here any longer. Do you?â she asked. âI want to go. Leaveâ she added, whispering. âDonât you?â
Anton, pleased with the sliced of cake pushed before him gave out a toothy smile. He knew it was one of best qualities, one he didnât offer so easily. âThank you,â he said, taking a fork and cutting a piece from the cake. He brought it to his mouth and instantly made him feel a lot better. âThis is very good. Arenât you having any?â He asked, taking another bite of the cake. âIt is not a good place,â he then replied. âWhy are you here? Are you bound to this place or do you have a choice to leave whenever you want?â If he had a choice, heâd take Erwin with him and leave immediately without looking back.
She raised her hand. âNot at allâ she recited and shook her head, âI am a pastry chef, yes. But I am not like sweet things so muchâ she admitted with a hand on her chest. âBut for you, bon apĂŠtitâ she sipped on her tea again, holding onto the rim with her lips. âHmm?â she must have been daydreaming for a second. âWhy I am here? Workâ she shrugged with a pout of her lower lip. âI leave Paris and get this job. Royal pastry chef. It sound good, no?â she asked. A single shoulder shrugged. âYes, I can leave. I am not in the ...traditionâ
âNo. I donât know any of them,â he said to her. Still. It saddened him knowing that some peopleâs life ended because of some ridiculous game. âDo you?â He was careful. He knew this must be a hard topic for her to discuss.
âI know some of the injury ones. But I do not know the killed onesâ she cut a thick slice of cake from the roll that a kitchen hand had set in front of her and putting it on a plate she pushed it towards Anton. âI meet all of the ones that lived. They are nice peopleâ she sipped on a large cup of tea. âIt is not a good place. Here is not a good placeâ she said looking down into her cup.
Anton took the womanâs hand and gave the top of it a kiss. âPleasure, Mademoiselle,â he said, settling back in his seat before replying to her. âI was, yes. I was with a friend. A trainer. He unfortunately got hurt as well,â his expression fell then, realizing how bad he felt about what happened to Vaughan. âI left the woods before the attack.â
He was a gentleman, it was nice to come across a gentleman and not one that wanted to either fuck her or beat her. She relaxed a little. âYou were lucky. Did you ahh know any of those people. The killed ones?â her stomach did back flips as she thought of that night. âI hope they find those man. And, and cutting off their man thingsâ
Antonâs smile widened. âI didnât know you make them. Theyâre very good,â he said. âI think Iâll have some in a little but. Iâm Anton,â he offered a hand to her, straightening in his seat as he introduced himself. âIâm glad you got out of the woods,â he then said after a moment. He thought of the people who didnât make it out of the forest. âMust have been a terrible experience. You should take all the break you needed.â
âYes, I am the pastry chef of the castleâ she gave a small smile. âEnchantĂŠ Antonâ she said offering her hand to the man. âI am Suziâ her face dropped once more. âI was lucky. They leave me. After hitting etcetera...they leave me and go. You were in the forest area that night?â
Anton could only imagine what the woman had been through. âIâm glad youâre fine,â he said, shrugging his shoulders then when she commented on him eating a lot of cake rolls. âThey are very good. I was hoping to have some for breakfast but I suppose I could have some eggs and bread insteadâŚâ
Suzanne nodded. She was not fine, the physical wounds were healing of course. But mentally she did not feel fine, Vilhelm had been away and she was alone and felt incredibly vulnerable and unsafe, she was thinking about leaving the castle herself and had not been working since the attack. âI am happy you like them. Perhaps there are some in the fridge? I do not make them this time, because of...â she motioned to her face and arms âCake for breakfast is very deliciousâ
Anton winced as a response to her question. He wasnât going to lie and tell her it didnât look bad, the bruises. âItâll heal soon, hopefully,â he said, knowing exactly what happened to her without asking. âWhy are you not in your room, resting?â He sat down, not waiting for an invitation, hand under his chin. âI do love cake rolls,â he then gave out a small smile.
âI hopeâ she said, trying to smile. âI am so bored of rest. I need to do some things. I do not want to remember...â she glanced at him as she placed the ice in a towel then on her cheek. âI see you. Eating many slices of themâ she said, looking the man up and down. Despite his sweet tooth, he was very slim.
Banana Cake Roll
Anton sneaked in the kitchen for something different to eat for breakfast when he heard the request. âSure. Are you alright?â He walked to the freezer where a groomer assisted him with what he needed. He uttered a small âthank youâ and brought the ice to the woman.
She watched the young man go to the freezer. âIt is hurtsâ she pouted and nodded a thank you, blinking her eyes. It hurt to blink even. âI have this bruises and ...they look very bad?â she asked, thinking she had seen him rummaging around in the kitchen before. âYou are the one who like the cake roll, no?â she asked.
Please. Could you help? I am need some ice, for this bruises.

Timeline - Sunday 14th February, 2016, 10:58pm. Hohenzollern Woods
Suzanne had finished her duties in the kitchen and she had heard that Vilhelm was participating in the hunt. The kitchen staff that told her was a huge gossip and it was highly likely that this wasnât true. But Suzanne had to find out for herself. She wrapped up warm and entered the woods, upon seeing some guards she asked them about Vilhelm. They had no clue...so she went deeper into the woods with her flashlight. She called for him speaking in her native French but she heard nothing, she saw nothing. After an hour or so of searching she decided to give up and return to the castle. But she was stopped by three men. She knew instinctively that there was something wrong. Although she thought she recognised the men, she wasnât entirely sure, they had the hoods of their coats up over their heads and scarves tied around thier mouth. They approached her and began to talk to her, she didnât understand what they were saying as they spoke in German and another language she didnât recognise. Their tone of voice however was threatening and she whipped her head around looking for a space to run. As she turned one of them grabbed her arm, the other shoved her against a tree and kissed her roughly mauling at her, reaching inside her pants roughly. She begged him to stop, what came next was a brutal blur. She was pawed and mauled and subjected to unwanted sexual acts administered cruelly by the three men who laughed and goaded her. She crumpled to the ground like a used handkerchief in tears, hugging her arms around her legs. The men left her there. And she couldnât move for the longest time, when she did her body ached and hurt all over. Somehow, some way she managed to get out of the woods and back to the castle, heading to the kitchens where she crawled onto the space by the giant wood oven. It was warm from being used all day and there, her body aching and hurting all over, she passed out from sheer exhaustion, hoping no-one would find her.
