Aquaponics: The Answer to California's Drought
It's not about spending as much as you can in one day to make up for the rest of the year, learn about St. Valentine,
I know, but, like, hear me out….
If vegan is “a personal commitment to nonviolence and the abolition of exploitation” then that means
absolutely never no quinoa ever, not once, never
no Chiquita bananas
no food picked by migrant underpaid workers (no tomatoes and no citrus fruit, esp from florida)
no avocados
no cigarettes
no soy (it’s destroying the south american rainforest)
Many “vegan” items are responsible for ruining/causing pain and suffering to not only animals (via transportation, etc) but causing pain to humans, Quinoa and soy being two very big prime examples.
The rainforest is being deforested for soy. The global south is being exploited for soy, and other “hip” vegan foods, mainly avocados and the ever popular banana for “green smoothies.”
I’m sorry, but the eggs I get from 2 blocks from my house are 1,000x more “vegan” than any soy product I eat. The honey I get from within 40 miles of my house is way more “vegan” than “vegan sugar” - and it ensures there are bees to pollinate crops……
This is coming from someone who eats primarily vegan, except for, like I said, local eggs and local honey. Veganism is not cruelty free by any means. Sorry..
Oh god, not this again…
You can’t tell me you seriously think the 2% of the population is causing all that. Most soy is grown to feed animals that will feed nonvegans, and I'm sure nonvegans overall eat more quinoa than vegans. And those “hip” vegan foods to make green smoothies? Wow, I didn't know vegans had so much power. Our smoothies are destroying the planet!
I’m not saying that vegans are free from guilt, by all means. I know being vegan is not cruelty free per se. Most vegans are aware of that. But it aims to reduce cruelty as much as possible. The thing is that we’re trying to make a difference. And it’s frustrating when people keep blaming us for everything that is wrong in the world. Personally, I’m trying to be an ethical consumer, not only in regards to animal products, but in every other aspect. Most of us care about human oppression too.
As for eggs, please, read this. As for honey, please, read this.
I’m for people being vegan, for there health and the planet, it takes will power to cut out everything you knew about food growing up, but going around saying your vegan is like me giving a homeless guy food and parading around saying I’m a humanitarian, This is not to be offend anybody, don’t make a big stink about it, everybody has a right to eat a carrot or a Big Mac,
Nope. Not for our health. For the animals. For the planet too, but the true victims here are animals. We don’t go around saying we’re vegan to boast. We want people to embrace a movement that intends to free animals from all the unnecessary suffering they go through. Everybody has the right to eat what they want, but the issue here is that a Big Mac was a sentient being before turning into a Big Mac. A sentient being who died because someone wanted to order a Big Mac.
What would you say about other aspects of veganism? For instance… clothing:
"If someone wants to wear fur, it’s their right".
Or… entertainment:
"If someone wants to see a bullfight or a dogfight, it’s their right".
When there are victims involved, what is more important? Someone’s right to do to them whatever they want? Or the victim’s right to be left alone?
I know, but, like, hear me out….

Totally understand your point of view, animals are the victims, there killed for our eating pleasure, so yes, animals are the victims, I have a question, I wonder how many real vegans are involved in human rights? Also, why is there tofu bacon and other meat substitutes? I know that's not all vegans but for the ones that do, how big of a hypocrite can you be, I would respect vegans a lot more if they didn't keep reminding you that there vegans, in Los Angeles it's really bad, and this is not meant to offend anybody
