Aujourd'hui un nouvel équipier rejoint l'aventure: Benedikt, Barman à Vienne / Autriche. Passionné de cocktails, il est aussi un aventurier dans l’âme: instructeur de plongée, moniteur de parapente et mordu de voile. Pendant le voyage, il partira a la recherche de spiritueux originaux aux 4 coins du monde. Il proposera sur le blog, des recettes de cocktails originales a base de ces alcools locaux. ---ENG--- "Some words about myself! My name is Benedikt and I'm a bartender from Vienna, but not only that. I'm a freedom loving person and I enjoy to get out of my comfort zone. If someone asks me what kind of goal I have in life, I just think about exploring the world from as many perspectives as possible. That's one of the reason why I love to sail, it gives me a huge freedom to explore, without the limits of roads. I'm not only an enthusiastic sailor. Soon on one of my first trips I got interested in the underwater world and I started to dive, which opened up a totally new and extremely exiting world for me. Not only what you see is exiting, also how you see it. With the correct buoyancy you feel weightless, like in a different atmosphere. If a person would ask me where I feel at home, I would say in the Alps. I just love the mountains and hiking or climbing them up, before raiding them down with the snowboard or flying down with my paraglider. Flying is my latest “addiction”, you feel just enormously free up there and it opens up another amazing perspective to see and explore our planet. As Basile asked me to join the crew I was exited from the first moment on. Obviously for a person like me, which loves to travel, sailing around the world is a big dream in life. When he told me about Bastien “the cook” and his idea of making a food blog, I immediately thought about bringing in my expertise as a bartender. Clearly good food needs good drinks! Therefor my challenge for this trip around the world will be, to create drinks with local products spirits, liquors, fruits and spices. I want to find a way to combine different cultures of tastes in one glass and maybe even in a barrel, with a unique barrel aged cocktail and a small batch rum blend.
