December 31. Dear survivor, don’t give up.

I don’t walk in your shoes. I don’t get to hear you crying when you’re alone. I don’t get to see your swollen eyes after, and I can’t grab your emotions with my bare hands to measure how heavy they are. But that is not keeping me at distance from you. Our struggles, as different as they may be, unite us.

And I believe you. I validate your pain. I know I’ll never understand how you feel.

I’m thinking of you this New Year and I’m here to tell you, don’t give up yet.

If nobody ever told you this, or you struggle to remember it: Your life is irreplaceable, and valuable. And to measure it, will be a mistake.

Measure your value is… so unfair.

And I promise you there’s room in your life for better things to come your way.

There is room for healing. There is room for love. There is room for justice. In this world, there is room for you. ♥

every day i think about how i accidentally outed myself in high school by showing my friends a sweet text from my “boyfriend” that read something along the lines of “good morning, i love you, i know you’re going to the beach with your friends today so be sure to wear sunscreen” and they thought that was too nice of a thing for a man to ever say to a romantic partner so they figured out that my “boyfriend” was a woman. the bar is in the earth’s core
