me: oh boy i should play sims 2 i haven't done that in awhile!

So I've updated my drivers and restarted my pc but it still looks like pink soup. And when i removed my CC, the game outright crashes when i try loading a neighborhood.
We're onto old reliable, uninstalling and reinstalling.
If anyone has had this issue and fixed it before, please send your insights my way :')
time to play my favorite called 'what broke sims 3 this time'
at first my launcher (using LazyDuchess' launcher mod) was all borked and i couldnt even get into the game. repaired it via EA. now i'm in game, and the ui is absolutely deep-fried (which hopefully the screenshot shows)
edit: here's more examples of how fried the launcher is
edit 2: tried deleting cache files and restarted PC, launcher still broken. now the launcher wont even show up.
update: tried resetting my PC multiples time, updated my graphic card drivers, repaired files again, still getting nothing. at this point im giving up and uninstall/reinstall it
heaven only know what's causing this because it was working fine last night

so after doing a clean reinstall, it looks like everything is back to normal ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

After hours of bending over backwards for snooty artistes, demanding clients, and risking life and limb painting in high up spaces, Judith left town hall with some extra painting knowledge and apatite for the biggest stack of pancakes she could order.
