Backstory-James family was in debt to the mob.

So one day after walking home alone James was kidnapped and killed forced to pay off the debt.

And luckily or unlucky a zombified spider bit James bringing him back but also giving him spider powers. Turning him into the one and only spider rot.

I think the rest is obvious.

Fleas family for safety, Moved to America, started spidey work for New York.
