Dearest diary-

I haven't interacted with anything mcd in a while but I have a random incoherent 2 am rant that idk where else to paste, I'm so sorry if anything doesn't make sense and ofc I know it's really bad grammar. Unfortunately I am typing faster then my brain I'm so sorry this is more of a diary(pun) entry-

Dear diary-

Pt2(different rant about this rant, rant of a rant if you will)-

Okay so, I feel insane because I've never seen anyone else mention this, but I could just be remembering the series wrong or not finding someone else's rant about this but I haven't seen it mentioned at all.

I've always wanted laurence's story to have something to do with or a parallel to the innkeeper and his shadow knight wife that aphmau and Laurence meet at a village (it's been a while since I watched and I'm currently rewatching but it's like one or two episodes before or after Jeffery dies). and how despite the old lady being a shadow knight she lives a peaceful life with her husband. I was convinced as a child the series would end with laurence's story having a call back to them or being a parallel to their story, but (and please correct me if I'm wrong) from what I remember it was never mentioned again and I was devastated when that's not how it ended(ofc that was many a years ago)

Idk I'm sorry it's 2 am for me I'm not sure if this makes sense 😭 I'm going to rewatch mcd right now thank you potential entity finding my dairy.

and ofc this is not me saying he exactly had to be with aphmau or even anyone at all (I am pretty laurmau leaning ofc but I wouldn't have minded if it ended with him realizing self improvement over being with aphmau would be healthier for everyone involved) I just wanted that to maybe be a motivator for him to know that he COULD infact get through his struggles because there's proof it is possible. I feel like him even mentioning the couple once for example when he's with vlad learning to control his shadow knight stuff in season 2 it would have been an amazing call back (even if it would probably come out as something silly towards aphmau like "hey aphmau remember that couple? think that could be us one day😔😏?" it could probably still have sincere undertones like a lot of his dialogues.

okay actually bawling my eyes out at aphmau coming to levin's bedside and finding him asleep, just like she would have when he was little but he's so big now. she's still his mama so she can tell he's feeling restless, so she goes to soothe him. she plays his music box, because it always makes her baby sleepy. it works, just like when he was a baby. and even though he's so big now he's still her baby. and she sits next to her baby's bedside and watches his chest rise and fall. the peaceful look on his face to his birth mother's lullaby reminds her how young he still is, even if she missed so much. he's still her baby. and she falls asleep watching him just like she used to. her little levin.

and then malachi comes back, and his brother is there and so is his mama. just like when they were little. and she's asleep on the floor, and he could never help her into bed when he was small and incorporeal but now he's big and strong and real and he can pick his mama up and tuck her into bed, just like she did for him and his brother. he resets the music box, because it always made his mama sleepy, and he sleeps on the couch, knowing his whole family sleeps with him.

levin gets to wake up to his mama next to him in the morning. gets to talk to malachi about what it felt like to wake up to his mama again. malachi gets to talk about how it felt to sleep knowing she was just in the other room, like she had been before. how it felt getting to tuck her in for once, to take care of her. how she was drooling on levin's blanket. how much they still love their mama and how much she loves them.

my favourite little shadow knight!

been thinking of laurance SO much while im rewatching mcd… the shadow knight mentality has my mind in a chokehold and I love thinking of laurance's actions and development as he begins losing his grip of his own thoughts and listening to the calling ringing in his head AUGH I MISS HIM

i just really love all the shadow knights in general, they all have to be my very favourite characters and I think they all have such interesting conflicts and stories, even outside of the stuff that comes with the shadow knight territory!!

while im excited to rewatch mystreet after mcd, diaries will ALWAYS have a special place in my heart as an og watcher since origins LOL and im so so so excited for all the new content coming out!!!! excuse my 3am mini ramble, I hope everyone has a great day!
